11 Iconic Sitcoms That Aged Like Milk, And 17 That Stood The Test Of Time

A while back, I rounded up some classic sitcoms people think aged either surprisingly well or super terribly. In the comments, members of the BuzzFeed Community shared even more examples.

Here are 11 sitcoms people aged super terribly:

1.”The Andy Griffith Show is total cringe. So much misogyny, and the number of times Barney accidentally fired his weapon — it’s hard to believe that was once considered funny.”

“It was cringe when I was a kid. I never liked The Andy Griffith Show.

I had a blind date with a guy who told me that not only did he love TAGS, but that when TV Land (or Nickolodeon — this was a very long time ago) would show ‘8 Great Hours of The Andy Griffith Show,’ he would watch it. There was no second date (although it had more to do with the fact that he was unemployed, living in his parent’s basement, and would go out drinking on his credit card).”

2.”I find Growing Pains unwatchable, the way Mike always calls his sisters names and the fat jokes.”

Kirk Cameron sitting on a couch, wearing a patterned shirt, appears to be mid-conversation in a living room setting

“I also thought, with a mom who is a reporter and a father who works in mental health, they would have seen the signs. It’s just not funny.”

3.”I will die on this hill: The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air did not age well, and Uncle Phil isn’t even the top 5 best TV dads. Will was a teenager dating grown women every other episode, and Phil and Vivian just let it happen. Phil blamed Will for everything that went wrong, even if he had nothing to do with it.”

4.”I still enjoy Seinfeld, but one thing that stands out 30 years later are the episodes where they poked fun at suicide.”

in his kitchen, Jerry jokes, "You know, I don't get that whole suicide machine. There's no tall buildings where these people live?"

“Granted, it was all about being irreverent about everything, but in retrospect, that was a little over the line.”

5.”Sex and the City aged horribly, too. Samantha, Aidan, and Steve were the only good people in that show.”

6.”The Love Boat. Never missed an episode back in the day. Now, it just seems awful. Having the ship’s doctor chasing after passengers, ugh.”
