Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay continues to make his way around southeastern Connecticut’s dining scene, stopping at another Mystic restaurant this week.

The host of Fox’s “Hell’s Kitchen,” which is currently filming its next two seasons at Foxwoods, visited The Shipwright’s Daughter at the Whaler’s Inn for dinner Tuesday. He posed for photos with executive chef David Standridge (who is a 2024 finalist for the James Beard Foundation’s Best Chef: Northeast award) and Shipwright’s Daughter employees.

“We love taking care of industry peeps at the restaurant, but this one hits a little different,” read a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page. “Thank you @gordongram for coming in to dine with us last night! Our team was so thrilled to have you in the kitchen!”

This is the third Mystic restaurant — and second helmed by a James Beard-nominated chef — where Ramsay has been spotted while filming in the area. He stopped by Oyster Club last month, where he enjoyed a meal of oysters, empanadas and monkfish, and took photos with executive chef Renee Touponce and servers and kitchen employees. Touponce is a 2024 finalist for the James Beard Foundation’s Outstanding Chef award.

The celebrity chef visited Red 36 on May 20, and took photos with employees while dressed in cycling gear. A Red 36 employee told Hearst Connecticut that Ramsay had only stopped by during his bike ride and didn’t eat there.

Ramsay was also seen visiting Guy Fieri’s Foxwoods Kitchen earlier in May. In a May 9 Instagram post, the restaurant shared a photo of the chef holding up an autographed plate reading “(expletive) delicious. Love, Gordon.” He enjoyed buffalo cauliflower, hot honey and BBQ wings and a Southwest chopped salad, according to the post.

The sightings come several weeks after ITV America announced that the “Hell’s Kitchen” TV show will film seasons 23 and 24 at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, instead of the previous filming locations in California and Las Vegas. Ramsay opened a Hell’s Kitchen restaurant at the venue in July, yet the set of the cooking competition show won’t be located in the restaurant.

Although this is the first time the show will film in Connecticut, it has had some Nutmeg State talent in the past. Scott Leibfried, a former sous chef on the show, is working with Music & Industry, a new restaurant coming to South Norwalk. Kevin Cottle, who competed on season 6, is the executive chef of Fire at the Ridge in Middlefield. Another season 6 competitor, Van Hurd, is now the executive chef of Fire by Forge in Hartford.
