MYSTIC, CT — Celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay was back in Mystic again recently. This time he dined at the heralded restaurant The Shipwright’s Daughter at The Whaler’s Inn.
The Shipwright’s Daughter posted photos Wednesday of Ramsay with Chef David Standridge and staff on Facebook.
“We love taking care of industry peeps at the restaurant, but this one hits a little different.
“Thank you @gordongram for coming in to dine with us last night! Our team was so thrilled to have you in the kitchen!”
Ramsay was recently spotted at two other Mystic establishments. He dined at The Oyster Club recently. He also stopped by Red 36 while out on a bike ride.
Ramsay should be in Connecticut often this summer as his show “Hell’s Kitchen” is filming at Foxwoods Resort Casino. The 23rd and 24th seasons of the show will be shot at the casino.
Ramsay, a Michelin-star chef, also opened the sixth Hell’s Kitchen restaurant last July at Foxwoods’ Grand Pequot Tower.
For the show, Foxwoods has “custom-built a new set on property – the first time in the series’ history – and will serve as the backdrop for the show’s intense culinary battles, with Foxwoods’ world-class amenities prominently showcased,” according to a statement.
Standridge is a nominee for the prestigious James Beard Award in the Best Chef in the Northeast category. He was also nominated as Chef of the Year at the Connecticut Restaurant Association’s 2022 CRazies Awards.
The Shipwright’s Daughter is a “sea to table restaurant focusing on sustainable local seafood,” according to Standridge’s bio. The restaurant has won awards from the Connecticut Restaurant Association and Wine Spectator.
