Tracker Earns Season 2 Renewal: ‘Lots of Thrills to Come!’
Justin Hartley’s new CBS series Tracker is only halfway into its freshman season and it’s already a hit. With such high ratings, fans are wondering: will there be a Season 2 of Tracker? Keep reading to find out.
Based on the best-selling novel The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver, Tracker centers on Colter Shaw (Hartley) a survivalist and lone wolf who travels the country as a “rewards seeker,” using his tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all sorts of mysteries. Rounding out the cast is Fiona Rene as Reenie Green, Robin Weigert as Teddi Bruin, Abby McEnany as Velma Bruin and Eric Graise as Bobby Exley. The show premiered on CBS right after Super Bowl LVIII in the network’s most coveted time slot.
Tracker has proved to be an instant hit, with a whopping 18.4 million people tuning in to its premiere. It has since become Sunday’s most-watched primetime series with 6.9 million average viewers and it is continuing to grow — most recently delivering 7.4 million viewers. The show has also become CBS’ most-watched new series since Young Sheldon and its most-watched new drama since Empire. With this level success just four episodes in, fans would be shocked to see the This Is Us alum’s latest show not get the green light for Season 2. Read on to see if Tracker will be renewed for a second season by CBS.
Will there be a Season 2 of Tracker?
Will there be a Season 2 of Tracker? The answer is yes! Tracker got an early renewal by CBS on March 4, 2024, just three weeks after it premiered.
“Tracker kicked off our premiere week with a ratings bang and has kept the momentum going,” CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach said in a statement. “We knew we had something special when we saw the very first cut of the series and the overwhelming audience response confirms it. We couldn’t be more grateful to Justin [Hartley], the talented cast, the incredible writing and producing teams and our partners at 20th Television for such compelling episodes. And, of course, we’re also so thankful to the millions of viewers tuning in each week.”
Hartley celebrated the exciting news on Instagram, sharing a shot from the show with the words “Tracker Season 2,” written across it. “Thanks to all of you for watching us. Sticking around for another season thanks to you. Lots of thrills to come!” the Young and the Restless alum wrote in the caption.
