‘Tracker’ Casts Jensen Ackles In Justin Hartley Series – Airdate & Storyline Revealed With First-Look Photo – Update
UPDATED with airdate and episode synopsis: Justin Hartley’s Colter Shaw has found his brother. Hartley announced Thursday in a video on Instagram (see below) that Jensen Ackles has been cast as Colter’s estranged brother Russell on CBS’ drama series Tracker.

The network revealed Friday that Ackles’ character will be introduced in the season’s penultimate episode “Off The Books” on Sunday, May 12. CBS also released a first-look photo of the two brothers above.
Per CBS’ synopsis: “Colter is forced to team up with his estranged brother, Russell, who enlists his help to track down a former army buddy who’s gone missing after several weeks of paranoid behavior. The investigation takes the brothers into the world of Special Forces missions, shady off-the-books programs and conspiracy theories, all while they contend with their family’s past.”

The series, a strong ratings performer, received an early Season 2 renewal just weeks following its Season 1 premiere.

Tracker, based on the bestselling novel The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver, stars Hartley as Colter Shaw, a lone-wolf survivalist who roams the country as a reward seeker, using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all manner of mysteries while contending with his own fractured family.

The series also stars Fiona Rene, Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany and Eric Graise also star.
Tracker is produced by 20th Television. Hartley, Ken Olin, Elwood Reid and Ben Winters serve as executive producers.
Ackles is best known for his long run as Dean Winchester in The CW’s Supernatural, a role he reprised in Supernatural prequel series The Winchesters. His other recent credits include the role of Sheriff Beau Arlen in Big Sky, Soldier Boy in The Boys and a guest role on Gen V.
