Ahead of its series five premiere this fall, Virgin River fans have gone wild for news that the show will return for season six. The Netflix original, based on a series of books with the same name written by Robyn Carr, has proved enormously popular with viewers.
The cozy, soap-drama starring Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson even dethroned Stranger Things from the number one spot of the Nielsen top 10 streaming rankings – pulling in 2.6billion minutes viewed in its first three days of series four’s availability.
On the upcoming series five, Netflix said: “Get ready for more romance, paternity drama, rural drug kingpins and general small-town theatrics when Virgin River returns”
But it was the news that a sixth season is official on the way which had fans rejoicing on Twitter. Markghanime wrote: “So so happy to hear about our lil powerhouse of a show is renewed!!”
While other replied: “OmG woo omg yes yes” and “Yessssss I have been waiting for an eternity!”
Elliqks exclaimed: “BEST NETFLIX SHOW IS RENEWED THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE.” DanGripReviews wrote: “God yes, run this thing all the way until the end of time.”
Excitement was ramped up a level when one of the show’s stars Colin Lawrence, who plays John ‘Preacher’ Middleton took to Instagram to say: “Just got word that we have been picked up for a season six. Doing my happy dance! Doing my happy dance!”
