Season five, part one of Virgin River landed last week and legions of dedicated fans have now binged through the first 10 episodes.
The new series on Netflix picked up from season four’s huge cliffhanger ending.
There were plenty of new developments including fresh twists and romances.
What is the age gap between Muriel and Cameron stars in Virgin River?
Perhaps one of the most surprising blossoming relationships was the one between Dr Cameron Hayek (played by Mark Ghanime) and the clinic’s secretary Muriel (Teryl Rothery).
Cameron moved on from his unrequited feelings for colleague Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) with the sparks flying between himself and Muriel after they found a shared love of musical theater.
However, former actresses Muriel and Cameron were initially unsure about their romance given they worked together.
Eventually, they got Doc Mullins’ (Tim Matheson) relationship blessing and went public with their when they kissed on Labor Day.
Many viewers might find the romance between Virgin River’s new couple intriguing and are keen to know more about the age gap between Muriel and Cameron.
In the show, it’s unclear how old the two characters are but in real life Canadian actor Ghanime was born on December 1, 1977 which means he’s 45 years old.
Meanwhile, Rothery was born on November 9, 1962 and is 60, so there is a 15-year age difference between the two stars.
The romance between Muriel and Cameron will continue into part two of season five.
In the Virgin River novels by Robyn Carr, Mel was 32 when she first moved to the town and left her old life behind.
While it’s not clear how old in the show, it seems Cameron may be a similar age to Mel after he developed feelings for her when he arrived in Virgin River.
Cameron was also previously engaged but broke things off due to her alcoholism, warning Mel about Jack Sheridan’s (Martin Henderson) drinking problems.
The implication was Mel and Cameron were around a similar age in the show as they appeared to be at similar life stages.
