Channel 4 has apologised after two of Gordon Ramsay’s shows were aired before the watershed without bleeping out the swearing.
An episode of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA was shown at 4pm on E4 Extra during which the word f**k was used 17 times.
A month later the channel also broadcast Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back at 12.10pm on Channel 4, during the school holidays, which featured the foul-mouthed chef saying “it’s f**king dry” in reference to some stale meatballs.
Following a complaint to broadcasting regulator Ofcom, Channel 4 has accepted the shows were in breach of the rules which state offensive language must not be broadcast before the watershed, and that any offensive content is justified by the context.

Ofcom told Yahoo UK while Channel 4 was in breach of the rules, it will not face a penalty.
The channel has apologised and claimed that there were two versions of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA – the original version and the one which had been edited for pre-watershed broadcast with the offensive language bleeped out.
It said that due to human error, two of the original four parts broadcast at 4pm had bene mistaken for the pre-watershed version.
Channel 4 said the use of the word “f**king” in Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back had been missed by human error.
Celebrity Chef Ramsay is father to Megan, 24, twins Holly and Jack, 22, Tilly, 21, and three-year-old Oscar.
While he is renowned for using bad language on television he claims he never swears around his children.
He said “My kids know not to use naughty words.
“I don’t swear at home.”
Earlier this year PETA called upon Ramsay’s children to disown him following a controversial TikTok clip.
In the video posted to Ramsay’s TikTok account, the Hell’s Kitchen star appeared to be picking out a lamb for slaughter to then eat.
In the video, Ramsay can be seen climbing into a pen of lambs and saying: “I’m going to eat you! Yummy, yum, yum. Which one’s going in the oven first?”
In response, the animal rights organisation have asked for Ramsay to be disowned by his children.

In a statement, they said: “Gordon Ramsay is a callous man who makes a fool of himself. Intimidating gentle lambs is loutish, not amusing.”
They added: “What would be funny is if his children went vegan and disowned him — much in the way Elon Musk’s daughter disowned her father. Those lambs are just babies who want little from life but the chance to live it and not end up in this moron’s — or anyone else’s — mouth.”
The caption for the video also includes the message: “No animals were cooked in the making of this video.”
