Adam Peaty’s ex-partner has shared her feelings on his Olympic success in a moving public gesture.
The champion swimmer was visibly emotional after securing a silver medal for Great Britain in the 100m breaststroke at the Paris Olympics, admitting to reporters: “It’s broken me, this sport, but it’s also given me life.”
Eiri Munro, Peaty’s former girlfriend, took to Instagram earlier today with a message of pride featuring their young son George. She posted: “Congratulations, Adam. George is so proud of you. He doesn’t see the worth of a medal, but the absolute strength and determination that got you it.”
Continuing her heartfelt message, she said: “These are the qualities I pray he inherits. This moment will inspire him and drive him for the rest of his life. Thank you for giving him that.”
Adam and Eiri became parents to George in 2020 after meeting at Loughborough University; they parted ways in 2022, reports the Mirror.
Peaty is currently in a relationship with Holly Ramsay, daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, who supported him from the stands during the Olympic event. Post-race, Peaty spoke to the BBC, expressing contentment with his performance: “I’m so happy that I can race the fastest in the world and still come second. I’m not crying because I lost, these are happy tears because I said to myself I would give it everything I’ve got and I have. And I can’t be upset about that.”
The swimmer immediately went to share a moment with Holly and George, embracing them in a touching display of emotion after his major achievement. Holly has been a constant source of encouragement as he faces the demanding challenges of the Paris Olympics 2024.
The couple, who have been public about their relationship since June last year, seem to be closer than ever, with Holly frequently spotted supporting from the stands.
The 24 year old took to social media displaying her manicure featuring pink and blue polish, including a nail that displayed the initials ‘AP’ symbolising her devotion to Adam.
The pair have taken their commitment to each other further with coordinated tattoos, Adam bearing an ‘H’ inked on his neck while Holly chose an ‘A’ tucked behind her ear.
Her support is unyielding, notably evident as she praised Adam for his Olympic efforts. In an emotional Instagram post, she wrote: “It has been an absolute privilege to have watched you this last year. Your determination and dedication is unmatched. Hours of training, team meetings, gym, physio and still you have been the best father to George and the best partner to me. Being able to watch so many training sessions and host team breakfasts has made me so thankful to be a part of your world.”

Before falling for Holly, Adam was in a significant relationship with Eiri, George’s mum. Post-split, he admitted to having “let her down”.
