Bridgerton, Colin Breaks Penelope’s Heart, Brings Back Lady Whistledown
As if Penelope’s night couldn’t get any worse, Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) accidentally breaks her heart. Penelope had been holding out hope for a possible romance with her long-time crush after he opened up to her and even asked her to dance. But as Penelope ran after Eloise, she saw Colin’s friends wondering about the dance and asking if he was flirting with her.
“Are you crazy?” he snapped. “I would never dream of flirting with Penelope Featherington. Not in your wildest dreams.”
Going into the season two finale, Penelope was ready to shut up about the Lady Whistledown rumors forever. But Colin’s rejection and her best friend’s harsh words are too much for the estranged Featherington sister, and she takes to her quill with a special vengeance.
Let’s get into the drama of Season 3.
What is Bridgerton Season 3 about?
It’s time for Bridgerton’s most wallflower to step out of the shadows and take the lead role when the series returns. (Episode 1 is even called “Out of the Shadows”). Now that Colin has crushed Penelope and her hopes for romance, how will Pen react? From what we know, Pen will abandon her longtime love, only for the roles to be reversed. Now Colin will play the role of secret admirer, and it’s about time.
That doesn’t mean Pen has sworn off men, though. This is the season she decides to get married. She’ll be looking for someone who can support her financially but also allow her to continue living her double life.
However, as Penelope grows in confidence and attracts potential suitors, keeping her identity a secret may become difficult. The newfound attention will also make Colin think harder about giving up what’s right in front of him, leading to what we predict will be another slow-burn romance.
When is Bridgerton coming back?
The first four episodes of Bridgerton Season 3 will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, May 16. The remaining four episodes will premiere on Thursday, June 13.
Everything You Need to Know About Fire Country Season 3
Bode (Max Thieriot) may be a free man on CBS’ firefighter drama Fire Country, but that doesn’t mean the show has stopped. The last time we saw Bode, he was begging his Uncle Luke (Michael Trucco) to pull some strings to ensure he would join the Cal Fire team in Season 3. The big ask will put Bode in the middle of the Leone Civil War, as Sharon (Diane Farr) has just announced she’s coming to take Luke’s job after learning of his involvement in the capture of Manny (Kevin Alejandro). Things aren’t much better for Bode in his personal life, either. He watched Gabriela (Stephanie Arcila) walk down the aisle to marry Diego (Rafael de la Fuente), but we don’t know if she actually said “I do.” Across town, Jake (Jordan Calloway) is trying to come to terms with the fact that Rick (Adam Aalderks), a high school drug addict and troublemaker, may be Gen’s (Alix West Lefler) biological father, complicating his ex-fiancée’s quest for custody of her daughter.
