Gordon Ramsay trolls daughter Holly’s boyfriend Adam Peaty as he prepares for Paris Olympics

“Don’t screw this up,” Gordon tells Team GB swimmer

Gordon Ramsay isn’t one to take his kids’ significant others lightly.

BBC Sports published the conversation between the celebrity chef and Olympic gold medalist Adam Peaty on July 26. While most people know the 29-year-old British swimmer for his underwater talents, Gordon knows him on a more personal level: He’s the boyfriend of his daughter Holly, 24.

The two talked about Peaty’s Olympic journey. Peaty will compete in Paris for Team GB starting on July 27 in the men’s 100m breaststroke. When the MasterChef star asked if the athlete would retire after Paris (his third Olympics), he replied, “Who knows?”

Gordon’s wry smile seemed to be toying with Peaty. “You’re laughing, I’m not going to give you that pleasure… I’m not going to do it,” he joked. “You’re trapping me.”

With a hearty laugh, Gordon joked, “You’re talking nonsense,” adding, “You’re definitely not retiring.”

The father of six continued to tease him. “Don’t screw this up,” Gordon said. Peaty replied, “No pressure!”

Jokes aside, the pair celebrated Peaty’s upcoming Olympic run, along with how he prepares for races.

“I think about the happy moments — the moments with Holly, with George,” he said of his son from a previous relationship. “I was so full of optimism and hope until 10 minutes before that race.”

Despite his tough exterior, it’s clear that Ramsay is a fan of Holly’s partner, whom she made Instagram official on July 10, 2023.

“You have a big heart, you take things personally just like I do,” he told the swimmer.

The cookbook author has come a long way when it comes to approving of his daughters’ partners. Along with Holly, he and wife Tana share Megan, 26, Jack, 24, daughters Tilly, 22, Oscar, 5, and Jesse, 8 months.

In a 2022 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Gordon admitted that he’s “sometimes a little spoiled” with the guys in their lives.

“I just want the girls to be taken care of and for them to take care of each other,” he said. “You’re always worried about it.”

For example, Ramsay discussed Megan’s boyfriend at the time, Byron, whom she started seeing again after the breakup.

“He was okay at first,” Ramsay said. “A little wet. A little… you want a man to date your daughter and he was just, a little pathetic.”

“I wanted to kill that son of a bitch, I’m not kidding,” Ramsay joked.
