‘Yellowstone’ Ending May Have Been Spoiled by Montana Homeowner

A Reddit post is going viral for possibly spoiling the ending of Taylor Sheridan’s long-awaited ‘Yellowstone.’

There’s nothing like investing in a movie, or in this case a TV show, only to see the ending spoiled when someone says it at the wrong time. The entire premise up until that point, hinges on the audience’s expectations, thus creating some suspense for the plot. And no show has more of this than Taylor Sheridan’s mega-hit ‘Yellowstone.’

For nearly two years, fans of the neo-Western drama have heard rumors of infighting among members of the cast, including Sheridan. Nearly two months ago, the show’s biggest star, Kevin Costner, confirmed that he would not be returning. Even further back, last December, Sheridan sued his own cast member Cole Hauser, who played Rip Wheeler on “Yellowstone,” on the grounds that his Free Rein coffee brand logo was too similar to his Bosque Ranch Craft coffee logo.

Costner went on to complete his passion project, “Horizon: An American Saga,” while Hauser and Sheridan settled their trademark dispute out of court. Dispute or not, many loyal “Yellowstone” fans have marked their calendars for November 10, when the show is scheduled to stream on The Paramount Network. It seems like nothing can stop this show from having an ending, not even its biggest star quitting or the fact that production was halted due to a 148-day writers’ strike. However, there may be a post explaining enough of the show’s ending to ruin the fun of watching it. And like the stone in David’s sling that felled Goliath, this criticism could be big enough to derail the grand finale of the show despite all the challenges to continue production.

Over the weekend, a Redditor posted an angry diatribe on a message board called r/missoula, claiming that the “Yellowstone” crew was rude and worked long hours to film in the Redditor’s neighborhood, using stadium lights and harassing local residents. Who knows what part of this scenario angered the Redditor, but it did reveal some details about the season’s potential finale, which, according to the post, was part of a “secret shoot.”

“I spoke to a co-worker this morning who, for some inexplicable reason, was an extra in this ‘secret shoot’ last night, as well as a neighbor who looked down on the house, and both revealed what happened after hearing about our child, my wife, and our friends,” the post reads.

What the Reddit post describes is a scene that many of us fans can picture in our heads. Without giving away too many details, all we can say is that the three main characters of “Yellowstone”, siblings, are described as participating in a major fight scene, in which one of them is carried on a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance. The post doesn’t reveal whether the actor on the stretcher was faking his death or was seriously injured, all we know is that it’s called a “secret scene,” so speculation could lead us to the conclusion that this could be a possible ending to one of the most anticipated TV finales.

Outraged by the way this Reddit user says they were treated by the cast and crew of “Yellowstone,” they’re taking full blame for this possible spoiler.

“If this is the big ‘secret’ fight/ending, ‘Yellowstone,’ then your crew’s horrible behavior toward their neighbors over the past few days and all summer, and even 2 years ago when you were filming at this house, as well as your condescending attitude toward Montanans in Missoula, Flathead, and Bitterroot, has made you friendless and ruined everything,” the Reddit post further states. “No one would have bothered sharing this ‘secret scene’ if you had treated people with a little respect. You didn’t. Here’s the result.”

Yeah, we know who they’re talking about, but where’s the fun in sharing every detail, right? As fans get closer to the end of this show, I’m sure there will be plenty of plot leaks and fan commentary to fill in the gaps. However, this will likely increase anticipation for the show’s ending, to see if this potential spoiler is just that—a spoiler or a misinterpretation of another dramatic “Yellowstone” scene. Either way, the ending of “Yellowstone” is already set in stone, leaving fans with no choice but to use their imaginations to fill in the gaps.
