Kevin Costner Leaves Show After Five Seasons Over Disagreements With Creator Taylor Sheridan
Kevin Costner, the former star of the hit TV series Yellowstone, is reportedly confident the series would not have succeeded without him.

Costner, who won a Golden Globe for his role as John Dutton, left the show after five seasons over disagreements with creator Taylor Sheridan.

Kevin Costner believes Yellowstone will fall flat without him

He has since moved on to work on his own Western epic, Horizon: An American Saga, which has received poor reviews and a disappointing box office.

Now, an insider tells Life and Style, “Kevin knows that people like Taylor Sheridan and the other traitors are probably snickering about the poor Horizon viewership numbers, and that only adds to his bitterness and hatred for them.”

Meanwhile, Taylor Sheridan is moving forward to expand the Yellowstone empire, with a new spinoff called The Madison, starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, and Patrick J. Adams.

This addition will join the prequels 1883, 1923, and 1944, further cementing the series’ hold on the Western genre.

The source continues, “Ultimately, Kevin thinks the Yellowstone bosses are running around like paranoid headless chickens.”

“His bottom line, as selfish as it may sound, is that without his genius—even at the advisory level—it wouldn’t work,” they added.

For those who don’t know, Kevin Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga is set to be released on June 28, 2024.
