BREAKING NEWS – Meet Simone Biles’ 5 Siblings: All About Her Sisters and Brothers

Olympic gymnast Simone Biles grew up with three of her siblings in Houston

Before Simone Biles won Olympic gold, she already had the unwavering support of her team at home: her parents, Ronald and Nellie Biles, and her siblings, Ronald Jr., Adam and Adria.

This solid family unit is what the Biles’ sought to create for her and her younger sister Adria when they adopted them from foster care and moved them to Houston. The sisters also share two older siblings, Ashley and Tevin, who were adopted by their great-aunt.

“Growing up, my biological mom was suffering from drug and alcohol abuse and she was in and out of jail,” Simone shared during her time competing on Dancing with the Stars. “I never had a mom to run to … At 3 years old, I was placed in foster care … Whenever we had visits with my grandpa [Ronald Sr.], I was so excited.”

Simone got into gymnastics when she settled in Houston and has flourished in her career, winning six Olympic gold medals and claiming a record 30 World Championship medals. Despite her sister’s ascension to legendary status, Adria, who was cheering her sister on in the stands at the 2024 Paris Olympics, has likened their relationship to that of typical siblings.

“I think when people ask this question they don’t realize she is completely normal,” she told USA Today in 2022. “She doesn’t do flips around the house. We still fight sometimes and I steal her clothes. We are like best friends.”

Here’s everything to know about Simone Biles’ siblings: Ronald Jr., Adam, Adria, Ashley and Tevin.

Ronald Jr. is the older of Ronald Sr. and Nellie’s two biological sons. He was followed by their younger son, Adam.

Simone and Adria’s biological mother, Shannon, had two older children, Ashley and Tevin, who were adopted by their great-aunt.

Ronald Jr. has a daughter

Simone’s oldest brother is a family man. Ronald Jr. married his wife Samantha in 2020 and the couple have been very open on social media about their struggles with pregnancy loss, infertility and in vitro fertilization (IVF). Ronald Jr. and Samantha shared news of their pregnancy in 2022.

“We’re pregnant with our rainbow baby😭😭😭 it’s been so hard to contain this joy + excitement + anxiousness,” Ronald Jr. wrote on Instagram. “I’m still in shock to be completely transparent. It’s taken me some time to process as everyday is a miracle + huge milestone for us.”

They welcomed their daughter, Ronni Louise Biles, on Nov. 25, 2022. Since then, Ronald Jr. has shared clips of their little girl’s milestones, including a video of her watching her aunt Simone in action at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in October 2023.

“I’m definitely honored to be your big brother and so blessed to be apart of this journey with you,” he wrote on Instagram. “You definitely inspire me everyday and clearly your little Ronni is inspired as well. Congratulations again and well done girl!!”

Adam was the manager of the family gym

Adam was the general manager at Simone’s training facility, World Champions Centre, in Spring, Texas. Ronald and Nellie opened the gym in 2014 so their daughter could have stability while training rather than follow a coach around the country.

The gym hosts the Biles Invitational and has also been the training home of 2020 Olympic team silver medalist Jordan Chiles.

Adria was also a gymnast

Simone isn’t the only high flier in the family. Adria followed in her big sister’s footsteps and took up gymnastics as well. She was an elite gymnast for a decade and trained with Simone until 2016.

“My sister has always been fearless,” Adria wrote in an opinion piece for ESPN in 2016. “When we were little kids, we’d stand on a railing on the second floor of our house, then jump off onto the couch down below on the first floor. She’d go first, and I’d follow. We were both gymnasts, so we were always trying things around the house. Nothing scared her.”

Adria and Simone are often mistaken for twins

Despite Adria being two years younger than Simone, they are often mistaken for twins. In an op-ed for ESPN, Adria shared her experience with unsuspecting fans while supporting her sister at the 2016 Olympics.

“Even in Brazil, people came up to me every day thinking I was her. They’d ask for autographs and take pictures,” she recalled. “And many times they didn’t speak English so I couldn’t explain that I wasn’t her. They’d just say, ‘Simone! Simone!’ and finally I decided it was easier to just let them take a picture.”

Adria continued, “We do look alike, I’ll give them that. But I’m about 5-foot-2. Simone is 4-foot-8. I’m a good head taller than her. When we are side by side, people can definitely tell us apart.”

Simone has also said that people think she and her brother Tevin could be twins. “my brother Tevin | everyone says we look like twins, but we don’t see it,” the gymnast wrote on X (formerly Twitter) in 2017 alongside three photos with her brother.

Adria appeared on reality TV

Adria was once a reality TV contestant. She appeared on season 1 of Claim to Fame, a show in which family members of famous people live together in a house full of clues about each of their celebrity relatives.

A grand prize of $100,000 is up for grabs for the contestant who manages to remain anonymous throughout all 10 episodes. Adria — who competed under the pseudonym “Louise”— was ousted in week eight by Jason Aldean’s cousin Logan Crosby.

Adria was a bridesmaid at Simone’s wedding

Simone wed NFL player Jonathan Owens at a Houston courthouse on April 22, 2023, and held a lavish destination wedding with family and friends a few weeks later in Mexico, where Adria served as a bridesmaid.

The lead-up to the nuptials included a bachelorette party in Belize, a wedding shower in Houston and more festivities in Cabo San Lucas. Adria was a constant presence at the various celebrations and shared a sweet note to her sister on Instagram as she prepared to tie the knot.

“I will forever celebrate you and clap for you, i love you sister🤍you have a whole village behind you!! let’s get you married👰🏾,” she wrote.

Tevin spent time in the military

Simone’s older siblings, Ashley and Tevin, were adopted by their great-aunt and settled in Cleveland.

After enlisting in the U.S. Army in 2014, Tevin worked his way up to the rank of specialist and was assigned to serve as a cannon crewmember with the 3rd Infantry Division. As part of a rotational deployment, Tevin was sent to Korea in 2018. Simone showed support for her older brother as he embarked on his military career.

“Talking to my brother really made me miss him😪 goodluck in the army tevin💚,” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter) in 2014.

Tevin ran into legal troubles in 2019 when he was charged with murder in connection to a New Year’s Eve shooting in Cleveland that left three dead. He was later acquitted of all charges.
