On Thursday, the cast of Fuller House had their first official day on the set of the Netflix reboot.
Many of the original members from the hit ’90s series, shared photos on social media.
However one returning actor was a big surprise: Scott Weinger.
‘This is not a drill, people,’ the 39-year-old actor who played Steve Hale on Full House wrote. ‘This is happening!’
In the photo that accompanied the Twitter post, Scott’s name and that of his character were clearly visible next to a Fuller House script.
Many fans of the original series will be delighted to see he was at the reading as it was not until now it was confirmed his character was returning to the show.
And Steve was not the only member of the close-knit Full House cast to post photos of the first table read of the reincarnation of the much loved TV program.
‘Epic first day. Cast read #FullerHouse #DJTanner #Deej #DjFuller,’ Candace Cameron Bure, 39, wrote on Instagram with a snap of her name tag, script, and personalised coffee mug.
‘Our Very First Show, Again,’ the black and white page read.
Candace plays the role of ‘DJ’ whose nickname was ‘Deej’ – a name branded on her coffee cup.
‘It’s happening!! First Day of work. #FullerHouse Deej is back!’ the married mother-of-three added with a black-and-white snap of her ‘DJ’ name tag.
Her co-stars Bob Saget (Danny Tanner), Lori Loughlin (Aunt Becky), and Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone) also took to Instagram to boast about their reunion.
‘And back to work we go! #FullerHouse,’ Dave, 55, chimed in.
‘Table read today! #reunion #FullerHouse,’ Lori, 50, tweeted with a pic of the script.
‘Surreal!’ she added, while Bob Saget (Danny Tanner) posted: ‘Oh yeah.’
Jodi Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner), Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibler) John Stamos (Uncle Jesse) are also set to play their old characters.
Unfortunately, twin tycoons Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen did not sign on for the spinoff series.
The actressses-turned-fashion designers shared the role of the Tanner family’s youngest daughter, Michelle.
As for Scott, he joined the cast of the original Full House in season five, playing the boyfriend of D.J. Tanner (Candace).
Believed by many fans to be D.J.’s true soulmate, many fans were concerned when Steve was not mentioned in the early descriptions of Fuller House.
Instead, the Netflix comedy will feature D.J. as the recently widowed mother of two boys – with a third child on the way – living with Stephanie and BFF Kimmy.
Steve’s place within the new show has not yet been revealed.
Also known for voicing the title character in Disney’s 1992 animated movie, Aladdin, Scott has more recently worked as a television writer on shows like black-ish, Galavant, The Neighbors, and 90210.
Scott and Candace even had an on-screen reunion on one of his programs, appearing as an unnamed couple in the series finale of The Neighbors in 2014.
Of all the actors, only Candace, Jodie, and Andrea have been confirmed as regular cast members, while the others are likely to guest-star.
Three children – DJ’s two sons and Kimmy’s daughter – will be regulars as well.
Netflix has not announced an exact premiere date for Fuller House, but the 13-episode sitcom is expected to air at some point in 2016.
