Gordon Ramsay’s big, happy family: meet his five kids with wife Tana – Megan, Holly, Jack, Tilly and Oscar – but which of them could carry on the Hell’s Kitchen host’s celebrity chef legacy?

Hell’s Kitchen host Gordon Ramsay is one of the world’s most famous chefs – and he’s also a family man, with five children with his wife, cookbook author Tana
Megan works at a PR firm, Holly has her own podcast, Jack joined the Royal Marines; Tilly stars in her own cooking show and Oscar has nearly 310,000 Instagram followers at the age of four
When Tana Ramsay met her future husband, Gordon Ramsay, she didn’t think much of him at first.

But he changed her mind and nearly 30 years after they’ve been married, they’re still going strong. The couple now have five children together: Megan, 24, twins Holly and Jack, 23, Tilly, 21, and Oscar, four.

Cayetana “Tana” Elizabeth Hutcheson was in her early 20s – and engaged to someone else – when she met Gordon at a New Year’s Eve party in London, but she didn’t think much of him at first, she told The Guardian in 2008. However, they had a mutual friend who bumped into them again and they started dating.

In 1996, when Gordon was 29 and Tana was 21, they married in Chelsea, London.

After initially struggling to conceive and undergoing IVF, they welcomed their first child, Megan, in 1998. By 2001, their first four children had arrived.

Speaking to The Herald in 2008, Tana said they were surprised by how quickly their family grew. “We knew we wanted a big family,” she said, “but it was amazing to have it so close together. When I found out I was expecting [fourth child] Tilly, I remember thinking, ‘Oh my God, how am I going to manage this?’ But you can do it.”

Tana, who originally trained as a teacher, is also adept in the kitchen and has published several cookbooks, including Tana’s Kitchen Secrets and Tana Ramsay’s Real Family Food.

1. Megan Ramsay, 24

Born in 1998, their first daughter, Megan Jane Ramsay, has no public career. She was the first in her family to graduate from university, her father shared on Instagram when she graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2019. “So proud of this young lady,” he wrote alongside photos of Megan in her cap and gown, adding, “hard work pays off!”

According to her LinkedIn profile, she now works at a PR and communications firm in London.

2 and 3. Twins Holly and Jack Ramsay, 23

On January 1, 2000, Holly Anna Ramsay and Jack Scott Ramsay were born. According to Hello! magazine, they were born seven weeks early.

In a December 2020 Instagram post, the girls’ mother recalled her struggles as a mother of premature twins. “Watching them grow into chubby, healthy babies in their first year has been a real blessing and I will always be grateful for the determination they have shown and their strong personalities,” she wrote.

4. Matilda “Tilly” Ramsay, 21

Matilda “Tilly” Ramsay, born in 2001, has been in the spotlight. In 2015, she began starring in Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch, a BBC children’s cooking show. Tilly has since published a corresponding book, Matilda & The Ramsay Bunch: Tilly’s Kitchen Takeover.

However, in an interview with British GQ magazine in April 2023, Gordon said Tilly would not follow in his footsteps and pursue a culinary career, noting that his youngest son, Oscar, “is my last hope of having a chef in the family”.

In addition to her own cooking show, Tilly has made a number of television appearances, including appearing as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing and MasterChef Australia.

5. Oscar Ramsay, 4

Tana shared a photo of her son on Instagram in honor of his fourth birthday, writing, “Already 4 – amazing, [time] flies by so fast!! Four years of loving you, you smart, crazy boy – love you to bits”.

His two older sisters, Tilly and Holly, manage his Instagram account, which has nearly 310,000 followers.

However, Gordon has previously said that he and his wife are “considering” having another child: “We’ve been talking about having another child. I said that’s a great idea. She said, ‘Okay, let’s start planning.’ So I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, hold on for two seconds. I’m going to be the oldest dad at school, what happens on sports day?’”

“But it’s something we’re still considering, because spending time with Oscar is a huge joy.”
