Gordon Ramsay praises wife Tana’s ‘strength’ after they lost their baby at 20 weeks
Gordon Ramsay may be a fiery personality in the kitchen, but behind it all, the chef has a softer side that many of us saw when he opened up about losing his son Rocky.
Before Gordon and wife Tana’s youngest child Oscar was born, Tana suffered a miscarriage at 20 weeks in 2016.
Gordon has now spoken about how losing their baby affected their family but also brought them closer together, with Gordon praising Tana for her “strength” during the difficult time.
Speaking to People magazine, Gordon recalled that dark time. Reflecting on how Tana coped, Gordon said she was “incredibly resilient” and “Tana did so much, we wouldn’t be here today without that strength”.
‘Just seeing how she dealt with it — and shared it with other friends and women around her who could give advice — she was amazing after that,’ he added.
On the seventh anniversary of Rocky’s death, Tara paid tribute, saying he was born with a ‘strong heartbeat’ but was too small to survive.
Gordon and Tana are also parents to Megan, 25, twins Jack and Holly, 23, Tilly, 21, and four-year-old Oscar.
The family have pulled together through the difficult times, supporting each other. Gordon said: ‘It’s been hard because we would never have had Oscar without Rocky, and so there’s no replacement, absolutely not.’
