Virgin River Season 6 is finally filming, but it’s still bad news
Virgin River Season 6 has finally started filming – but according to recent reports, it’s definitely not due to come out until 2025.
Deadline originally confirmed the show’s new release date at the beginning of the month, when the streaming platform announced its slate for the rest of the year. This was then doubled down on when reports surfaced of a new Virgin River prequel focusing on the relationship between Mel’s father Everett and her mother Sarah.
The timing of the prequel couldn’t be better, with Everett previously revealing that he has something pressing to tell Mel. Though speculation for what’s to come has been life, some fans aren’t entirely convinced that the prequel series is needed.
In the meantime, behind-the-scenes snaps from Virgin River Season 6 are already being posted online, including a photo of lead stars Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson.
“Fantastic news and they both look great!” one fan posted in response to the photo on Reddit, with others more concerned, stating: “These people are aging a lot more than they really would in the 2 months span this show has covered lol .”
Others voiced issues with the supposed character wardrobe, adding: “Martin is in jeans and a jacket and Alex is in a floral spring number. The wardrobe department does my head in.”
While we wait, find out everything you need to know about the upcoming prequel here.
