Tracker star Justin Hartley reveals that a number of the cast members from season 1 will be returning for the show’s highly anticipated season 2. Based on crime writer Jeffery Deaver’s thrilling novel The Never Game, this action drama series follows the show’s protagonist Colter Shaw, a lone-wolf survivalist who spends most of his time assisting law enforcement and private citizens with solving complex mystery cases. Aside from Hartley, the Tracker cast includes other talented acts like Eric Graise, Abby McEnany, Robin Weigert, and Fiona Rene.
Now, following the Tracker season 1 finale, Hartley reveals in an interview with Deadline that Billie (Sofia Pernas) and Lizzy (Jennifer Morrison) will be returning for Tracker season 2. Hartley also discloses that there are plans to bring back his character’s family, who might also have a bigger role to play in season 2. Read his full quote below:
She’s definitely coming back. We have some pretty cool stuff for her to do next year. She’ll be back several times next year. We have plans to bring back my whole my family…We have a lot of questions to answer with Colter’s mother. Jennifer Morrison does this really wonderful performance. I think we’d be remiss not to bring her back. We built this really great group of actors [who are] hopefully more than willing to come back, because we’d love to play more with them. We have a bunch of stories to tell with all [of them].
Tracker Season 2 Will Follow-Up On Answered Questions
More About Shaw’s Father Will Be Revealed
Since Tracker debuted on CBS earlier in the year, the action series quickly garnered an ever-growing audience and a strong reputation that ensured its continuation. Shortly after its premiere, Tracker became the most-watched new series on CBS since the debut of Young Sheldon in 2017, so it didn’t come as much of a surprise when CBS renewed Tracker, just four episodes into season 1.
As regards the returning cast for Tracker season 2, while Hartley already hinted at Billie, Lizzie, Ashton, and Mary Dove’s return, it is expected that the forthcoming season would also feature a number of the main cast from season 1. With Shaw’s family returning, the show will be able to dive deeper into the mystery surrounding the death of his father.
Taking Hartley’s comment into account, it is likely that the new season might explore a bit of Shaw’s past, his family’s secrets, and give more insight as to why he’s opted for such a nomadic lifestyle. While there’s no official release date for season 2, CBS has confirmed the new season of Tracker will arrive in the 2024-2025 season, which means it won’t be long before viewers of this show see some of their favorite stars in action once again.
