Tracker Season 2 Trailer Reveals Justin Hartley’s Colter Shaw Returns After Hiatus
The brand new Tracker season 2 trailer reveals the first look at Justin Hartley’s return as Colter Shaw. Despite a shortened year, CBS was able to successfully launch its latest police procedural based on the book The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver. Marking Hartley’s return to television after playing Kevin Pearson on This Is Us, Tracker has become the most-watched series of the 2023-2024 cycle, even ending NCIS’s five-year run at the top. With this, people are interested in learning more about Colter and his life going forward. Luckily, Tracker’s season 2 premiere on CBS is less than two months away.

Ahead of its return this October, Tracker’s official Instagram account has shared a trailer for season 2. Watch the video below: The short clip reveals Colter returning to his reward-driven ways, helping various people find missing people and reunite them with their loved ones. Unfortunately, while Jensen Ackles has confirmed his return for season 2, Russell Shaw is nowhere to be seen. At the end of Tracker season 1, Colter went into hiding after learning new information about what really happened the night his father died. For a long time, he thought his brother had killed his father. After reuniting with Ackles’ character, followed by a meeting with their childhood friend, Lizzy Hawking, played by Jennifer Morrison, Colter begins to suspect that he knows more about the case. Those realizations will have a huge impact on how the rewarder operates in the future, especially since the tragedy has shaped much of his perspective as an adult.

On the flip side, however, it paves the way for Colter and Russell to work together more often in the future.

On the flip side, learning new information about his father’s death will create a significant change in Colter’s stance on his family in Tracker season 2. It’s clear that his relationship with his mother was strained, but after Russell’s revelation about how she forced him to leave, the younger Shaw brother will likely be more cautious in dealing with his mother. Likewise, it could create a rift between him and his sister Dory. On the flip side, however, it paves the way for Colter and Russell to work together more often in the future.

Jensen Ackles will return as Russell Shaw in season 2 of CBS’s action drama Tracker, but his performance in the role is a bit disappointing.

Hartley and the rest of the Tracker cast have to step up their game, given the standard they set in their first year. For that reason, viewers should expect the second year to deliver at least the same quality of storytelling. Colter discovering new information about the Shaw family tree is a great springboard for his new story, which could be more engaging and compelling.
