Simone Biles and Cecile Landi Reunite: A Long-Awaited Reunion

Whenever the gymnastic mats have seen, Simone Biles and her coach, Cecile Landi, come together. It has been a cue to create history; together, they have shattered the ceiling on what can and cannot be done in gymnastics. Their last adventure together was the 2024 Paris Olympics. And as said, they rewrote the limitations of gymnastics yet again, but soon after came a surprise!

Biles and her coach had to say goodbye. Cecile Landi was moving! She decided to move to Athens and step into a new role. Cecile is currently the head coach at the University of Georgia. Since the move, Biles and Landi haven’t been able to see each other often. However, Landi has revealed that the two will soon meet. This will be the first time that Simone Biles and her coach will meet face-to-face since the Paris Olympics.

Recently, on the occasion of Landi’s birthday, Biles took to Instagram and wrote in her story, “Happy birthday to the greatest coach @cecilelandi Athens treat her right! She’s special!” Special she is, after all, the two have won 13 World Championship Golds together. Cecile Landi quickly reposted the story and responded, revealing a much-awaited reunion. She took it to her story and wrote, “Thank you, Simone! Can’t wait to see you in Duluth!!”  In Duluth? But isn’t Simone Biles on her Gold Over America Tour?

Well, yes, she certainly is. But Biles, of course, makes time for the woman who helped her become the GOAT. In fact, she has managed to skillfully align the meeting with the tour. The Gold Over America tour will hit the Kia Center in Orlando on October 12th. And then, it is set to hit Gas South Arena in Duluth, Minnesota, on October 13th. That’s where the two are to meet. As the two reunite, their shared history cannot go unspoken.

The iconic partnership that earned twelve Olympic medals cannot be forgotten! Simone Biles and Landi began their journey together in 2017. And they have stuck with each other through the highs and lows of gymnastics. Three years ago, Simone reached what many consider an unfortunate rock bottom in Tokyo. She experienced twisties and had to pull out of the competition. But under Landi, she trained and fought back to come back. 2024 was that comeback at its best in action. However, soon after, it was time for Landi to move.
