It is clear that 2024 is Phaedra Parks’ year. Not only did she make a splash as one of the traitors on the show The Traitors, but she even got her peach back as a housewife on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. And now she is about to get her groove on as she is also one of the celebrities who has been cast for Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars.
The announcement that Parks would be returning as a housewife to RHOA came at the end of July, as she shared a stunning series of pictures holding a peach to her Instagram account. Then rumors started circulating that she had been chosen as a participant in the upcoming season of DWTS. However, that news was not confirmed until September 4 when the full cast announcement came down.
Obviously, Phaedra is not the first Bravo housewife to put her dancing shoes on for DWTS. In fact, former RHOA star Kenya Moore competed for that coveted mirror ball trophy in 2021 for Season 30. Another RHOA alum who also got the chance to compete on DWTS was Kim Zolciak-Biermann in 201; however, her time on the show was cut short after a mini-stroke, which eventually led to heart surgery a month after she withdrew from the show.
According to Page Six, Phaedra’s professional dance partner is none other than Val Chmerkovskiy, who is the show’s reigning champion. As they point out, Season 32 was not his first time as champion with his celebrity partner. “Chmerkovskiy took home the Season 32 trophy with actress Xochitl Gomez last fall after previously winning with Rumer Willis (Season 20) and Laurie Hernandez (Season 23).”
Maybe it is just us, but we think there is a strong chance that Phaedra will end up going far this season, especially with Val at her side.
What do you say fellow Bravo fans? Are we excited to see Phaedra Parks taking on the challenge that is Dancing with the Stars? Do you think that she has what it takes to win the mirror ball trophy?
