Love Is Blind season 7 has finally come to a close, and while there were plenty of moments that should’ve been unpacked during the reunion, I’m convinced the Love Is Blind season 7 reunion was one of the worst yet, ignoring some of the major drama. Although Love Is Blind season 7 continually brought the couples’ drama to the forefront and shared about their time in the experiment, there were specific details that didn’t make the episodes and left viewers confused. While some were happy with the level of involvement that viewers got with the couples, others craved more information.
Love Is Blind season 7 has been a major sticking point for many longtime viewers, especially in the last stretch of episodes this season. Despite knowing that the drama of the season, primarily the open secret of Tyler Francis and the children he fathered for a friend, has been generating buzz surrounding this otherwise lackluster season of the series, Love Is Blind season 7 didn’t touch on the news once it was out in the open. Many expected the Love Is Blind reunion to address several topics, including Tyler’s relationship with his biological children and his fiance, Ashley Adionser’s, reaction.
Although the reunion did manage to reveal some of the facts surrounding Tyler’s paternity of the children in question and his involvement in their lives, most of the drama was swept aside. While the Love Is Blind season 7 reunion provided some information about what the cast is up to now and how things have changed since the show, most of the time in the show was spent with cast members from the past or the often criticized hosts, Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey. Though Love Is Blind reunions are typically tough to get through, this was the worst yet.
Love Is Blind Season 7 Has Been A Struggle
The Season Has Been Overwhelming
While Love Is Blind season 7 was something viewers were excited about before its release, the season itself was difficult to get through. With the singles coming from the Washington, D.C. area, many were excited for a different feel for the series than what has been experienced in recent years. Despite knowing that the Love Is Blind formula would stay the same, viewers were ready for a new season of the show with a whole new group of singles. Throughout the initial stretch of episodes, many felt it seemed Love Is Blind season 7 was changing for the better.
As the couples got to know one another in the pods, fun moments and heartfelt conversations were shared online, and viewers were certain that things were renewed for Love Is Blind. Once the pod phase ended with six couples moving forward and into the world, things shifted back to a less provocative, more subdued version of the series. The drama was tough to watch for some couples, like Monica Davis and Stephen Richardson, who surprisingly crumbled in the real world. Others, like Taylor Krause and Garrett Josemans, were so solid in their relationship that it almost felt boring to watch.
Love Is Blind Season 7’s Reunion Promised To Leave No Stone Unturned
There Was A Lot Of Drama To Unpack
Although the drama of Love Is Blind season 7 was difficult for some, there were a lot of questions to answer during the season’s reunion episode, which aired just a few days after the season ended. With two of the initial couples managing to make it down the aisle and get married, viewers were ready to learn the fates of the couples they’d been rooting for and get answers to the questions they were confused about. Most pressingly, viewers wanted to know more about Tyler and Ashley’s relationship, and were looking for an explanation about the situation with his children.
Alongside the big drama of the season, viewers were looking for answers from some of the participants who’d struck a nerve throughout their appearances on the show. Hannah Jiles and Nick Dorka, who broke up ahead of the weddings on Love Is Blind season 7, had a difficult time in their relationship, leaving viewers looking for information about what truly happened. Similarly, Ramses Prashad and Marissa George were set to get married on the show, but things broke down dramatically just days before the wedding. Many hoped to get some closure on the relationships of Love Is Blind season 7.
Love Is Blind Season 7’s Reunion Barely Touched On The Drama
Things Didn’t Get Resolved
While the Love Is Blind season 7 reunion promised to deliver what viewers had been looking for, what they got was a lot of fluff mixed with some answers. Though there was more information about Tyler’s biological children and how he approached Ashley about them being a part of his life initially, the rest of the reunion left a lot to be desired. The big questions may have been answered, as viewers were informed that both couples who tied the knot during the Love Is Blind season 7 finale remain married, but the smaller details were brushed under the rug.
The drama between Marissa and Ramses was unpacked in a more minor way, and while Ramses spoke up for himself about the situation with his Love Is Blind ex, Marissa didn’t offer much about her relationship. Instead, she worked to defend Hannah more than the Love Is Blind season 7 cast member defended herself on the show, trying to make it clear that she was there for her fellow pod squad member. Altogether, the focus of the reunion at times became more about the cast members of previous Love Is Blind seasons than the cast members of the current one.
Love Is Blind’s Reunions Have Become Unwatchable
They Don’t Add To The Seasons
Although Love Is Blind season 7 wasn’t a complete wash, it’s clear that things have been shifting from within for the series in the last several years. With participants no longer coming into the series without any idea of what to expect, the experiment itself is struggling. As Love Is Blind moves further away from its original concept, the reunion episodes tend to be the most truthful the participants are toward the audience throughout the season.
I’m convinced that Love Is Blind season 7’s reunion was the worst that the series has seen in years. While there were some answers provided about the questions burning in people’s minds, the majority of the information shared wasn’t jaw-dropping or surprising, and didn’t provide clarity on what a lot of Love Is Blind viewers have been curious about. Despite knowing that Love Is Blind will be continuing, the show should take a break to reassess how to run their reunions in order to provide genuine clarity to the audience.
