‘Steel Magnolias’ puts family dynamic on stage

Join Truvy Jones and her five gal pals starting Jan. 26 at the Valerie Theatre in Inverness when Truvy not only will wash a customer’s hair on stage, but she and her friends also will dispense hard-earned advice, witticisms, friendship, and love in Lewis and Young Entertainment’s presentation of “Steel Magnolias.”

Director Harry Lewis, who also runs Quality Production Services, an Inverness machine shop, has rigged up a sink with running water and a drain, where actress Holly Sherwood, who plays M’Lynn Eatenton, will get her hair – referred to as a “blonde football helmet” – washed during the show.
