SHOCKING NEWS!!! Virgin River: this is the most meaningless fact in the series đ±đ±
New events in Virgin River lose their veracity due to the speed with which the plots unfold.
Just days after the release of Virgin Riverâs fifth season, the Netflix series continues to be a hot topic. This is not
Surprising, given that new premieres are few and far between, and the actors and screenwritersâ strike continues.
First shown in 2019, this Netflix adaptation of Robyn Carrâs series of the same name quickly became a global hit.
Over the course of five seasons, Virgin River follows the lives of Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) and other residents of the titular town through countless exciting events. However, the pace of the new season seems too intense for some viewers.
When Netflix released the trailer for the first part of Virgin River’s fifth season in early August, it was clear that the season will feature many developments and plot twists. Plus, from Mel’s high-risk pregnancy to the wildfires ravaging the town, we’ve really seen a lot in Season 5. However, regrettably, this abundance of events has thrown Virgin River’s timeline into disarray.
The forest fires came and went quite abruptly. The romance between Preacher (Colin Lawrence) and Kaia (Kandyse McClure) seems rushed: the two have known each other for a few days, but they behave like a long-term couple, demonstrating trust and understanding. These are just some of the problems with season 5. And unfortunately, this detracts from the overall quality of the series.
Relative time
It may be partially a matter of perception as well. In shows released on a traditional schedule of 1 episode per week, even rushed events don’t seem to happen very quickly, because what comes before them happened at least a week ago, in the viewers’ subjective timeline. There is time for people to digest new developments.
On the other hand, when an entire season or multiple episodes are released at once, and people binge-watch them one after the other, the pacing of events can seem too fast, and any inconsistencies that would have gone unnoticed in a weekly series tend to stand out.
Fans donât mind
It must be said, however, that most Virgin River fans donât seem to mind the seriesâ somewhat rushed feel and occasional timeline inconsistency.
âThe timeline in VR is crazy, but I think you just need to go with it and not think about it too much,â suggested one fan. âI think the writers like to keep the pace fast to maintain interest. The series is very popular, so they are obviously happy with the way things are.â, concluded another.
