Adam Peaty says girlfriend Holly resembles dad Gordon Ramsay in one big way
Adam Peaty has opened up about girlfriend Holly Ramsay’s role in the 2024 Olympics, where he added another medal to his impressive collection.
Adam Peaty has opened up about girlfriend Holly Ramsay’s pivotal role in his Olympic campaign, revealing she has taken on the role of chef for Team GB’s swimmers in Paris.
Having won a silver medal in the 100m breaststroke on Sunday, July 28, to add to his impressive haul from previous Olympics, the 29-year-old swimmer had the support of Holly, 24, who was seen celebrating with him after the race.
Peaty appeared with Mark Wright at the GB Team House at Heart Studios, where he praised Holly for preparing his meals “every day” while training for the Olympics. It appears Holly has inherited some of her cooking skills from her father, Scottish chef Gordon Ramsay, famous for his eight Michelin stars, multiple TV cooking shows and books including The Ultimate Cooking Course.
Asked by radio host Wright about her cooking, Peaty replied: “Every day. I’ve learned, actually I’ve lost the will to cook but I’ve learned the skill of cooking. She’s amazing. She’s got the whole team, we have team breakfasts.”
Wright further asked if she cooked for the whole team, and Peaty confirmed: “Yes, and she’s really, really great and part of these performances.”
Olympic swimmer Adam has paid an emotional tribute to girlfriend Holly, praising the vital support she has given him behind the scenes, reports the Daily Star.
Speaking about their relationship, which began in May 2023 and went Instagram official a month later, Peaty underlined their bond with matching tattoos unveiled last December.
While Peaty’s sporting talents are well-documented, he recently confessed in a BBC interview with Gordon that he shares an intense pre-race mindset with Holly’s famous Renfrewshire-born father. He experiences a ‘red haze’ of determination similar to the celebrity chef’s hot-headed TV persona.
In a chat with Ramsay, Peaty revealed his mental preparation techniques: “If anything, I try to calm down because I get so excited, playlists, stretching [or] thinking about happy moments with Holly, George, my mum and dad.”
However, as race time approaches, his attitude changes dramatically as he explains: “So it’s just filling my mind with optimism and hope until 10 minutes before the race and that’s when I see the red fog and that’s when I start to get really angry.”
