It wasn’t too long ago that NCIS: Hawai’i had its explosive season 1 finale and viewers can’t help but be confused about what’s going on. Throughout the two-part finale, fans watched as the team, led by Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant (Vanessa Lachey), witness Marine Corporal Captain Joe Milius (Enver Gjokaj) die in what seemed like a random attack. But not all is what it seems.
TV goers later learned that Milius’ “death” was actually part of a targeted assassination plot after he found out about a top secret prisoner exchange between the U.S. and European governments. This went down in between family dinners, Lucy (Yasmine Al-Bustami) waiting for Kate (Tori Anderson) to return and the day-to-day NCIS sleuthing the team usually does.
It’s a lot to digest … and it has folks wondering exactly what can be expected for the already confirmed season 2. Will details of the deal between countries be revealed? What new cases will the NCIS team explore next? Where do Milius and Jane actually stand in their relationship? We won’t spoil too much for you. But for those fans looking ahead, here’s what we know about NCIS: Hawai’i season 2.
When is NCIS: Hawai’i coming back for season 2?
NCIS: Hawai’i season 2 will premiere on September 19 at 10 p.m. ET. The show made the big announcement on June 23, exciting fans over on Instagram.
“Aloha, season 2! 🤙,” the series’ official page wrote. “We’re headed back to the island on September 19 for more action, drama, and above all, more of your favorite #NCISHawaii crew. Are you ready?”
As for what fans can expect from the upcoming season, it’s still a bit hush-hush from the primetime network. But we are aware the show is officially back in production, because cast members recently participated in a traditional Hawaiian blessing on the soundstages of their Oahu set.
