General Hospital stars Evan Hofer (Dex) and Katelyn MacMullen (Willow) delighted fans during a memorable meet-and-greet event at The Stress Factory in New Brunswick, New Jersey, on Saturday, December 7th. Hosted by Coastal Entertainment, the event offered fans an intimate glimpse into the lives of their favorite stars, complete with behind-the-scenes stories, a Q&A session, and heartfelt interactions.
A Special Connection With Fans
The duo took the stage with warmth and humor, interviewing each other before fielding questions from an enthusiastic audience. MacMullen shared an uplifting story about her audition for the role of Willow, revealing that she and co-star Sofia Mattsson (Sasha) had supported each other throughout the process. Although MacMullen landed the role of Willow, the show created the character of Sasha specifically for Mattsson. Reflecting on this, MacMullen said, “That’s my favorite part of the audition process—it brought both of us into the show.”
Hofer expressed his gratitude for working alongside Maurice Benard (Sonny), describing him as a friend and mentor. “From day one, Maurice has been so incredible. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide,” he shared. He also expressed appreciation for the fans who tune in daily, saying, “Your dedication means everything to us.” MacMullen echoed his sentiment, emphasizing the unique bond between the show and its viewers. “Unlike most shows, General Hospital is a generational tradition. It’s an honor to be part of something so special.”
Laughs, Surprises, and Favorite Moments
The highlight of the event was when Hofer was asked about his favorite scene. He recounted his infamous “meat hook” moment with a playful twist. “I was supposed to be shirtless for that scene,” he revealed, laughing as he recalled how wardrobe vetoed the idea. “They told me, ‘There’s too much armpit.’ And I thought, ‘First, yes, I do have two of them. Second, you’re ruining my Tom Cruise moment!’” Hofer admitted to binge-watching Mission Impossible films for inspiration before filming his spy scenes as Dex.
The actors’ infectious energy and candid anecdotes left the audience in stitches while showcasing their deep appreciation for their roles and their fans.
Autographs, Photos, and Memories to Cherish
After the lively Q&A, Hofer and MacMullen stayed to sign autographs and take photos with every fan, ensuring no one left without a treasured memory. Their warmth and genuine interaction reminded everyone why these stars are not only beloved on-screen but off-screen as well.
