Blue Bloods actor Tom Selleck accused of stealing WATER from a public hydrant

Actor Tom Selleck is accused of stealing water from a public hydrant during California’s drought.

The former Magnum PI star had a commercial truck filled up 12 times, with the water being delivered to his ranch in Thousand Oaks, California, according to the local water board.
The Calleguas Municipal Water District is suing the 70-year-old and his British actress wife, Jillie Mack, 57, claiming investigators saw the truck filling up from a hydrant on a construction site seven time in September and October 2013, then heading to “the Hidden Valley area where he Selleck property is located.”
The board sent him a cease and desist letter in November that year, but according to the suit he ignored it, and the same truck was seen making a delivery in December.

This spring California Governor Jerry Brown imposed water restrictions on the state, which has been suffering from drought for four years, and the expression “drought shaming” has been introduced to the local vocabulary, applying to people who defy the restrictions for the sake of green lawns and landscaping.
The suit claims that on four consecutive days in March this year the same water ruck filled up from the same hydrant and delivered to the Sellecks.

The suit is seeking nearly US$22,000 (£14,300/ 20,000) which the board claims it spent on its own PIs investigating the alleged theft, an injunction, court and legal costs and other damages to be determined.

Selleck, who won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for portraying the suave Hawaiian detective, also appeared in Three Men and a Baby and had a recurring role in Friends, and currently stars in the police drama Blue Bloods.
