9-1-1 returns with one of the biggest emergencies to date. Either by sheer scale or potential casualties, the three-part opening emergency is bound to rock Los Angeles. Meanwhile, the characters acclimate to change following the explosive events of the second half of Season 7, which saw Bobby leave the firehouse and retire. At home, personal problems put more pressure on everyone. New images from the Season 8 premiere tease these and more as Bee-Nado begins while the 118 changes guard. The official logline below teases the scale of the emergency the firehouse must deal with.
The 118 is Very Buzz-y in 9-1-1 Season 8 Premiere
Several of the images feature the 118 on the scene. A woman calls the team to an event she organized, and the team comes dressed for the event. Well, not exactly, since everyone is fancily dressed, and the 118 has nets on. She shows something that is not captured in the image, which is shocking by the looks on their faces. Amy Pietz and Bailey Gavulic guest star as two women at the event, which is set outdoors where there are a lot of flowers. The event appears to be a product launch for a perfume called Tori. Pietz’s character is shown spraying Gavulic’s character. Body perfumes contain natural scents which bees love, so one can see how this goes wrong. The horror before them may be a young woman entirely covered by bees. In another scene, the 118 is on the freeway, which was teased in the trailer as a truck crashes and unleashes the bees. This must be ground zero.
Will Bobby Be a Buzzkill on ‘Hotshots’?
Another batch of images shows Bobby, who is supposed to be in retirement but is on what looks like a firehouse set. Showrunner Tim Minear has already revealed that Bobby takes a job on the set of a firefighter TV show called Hotshots. The situation is so meta with the fictional firehouse called the 119. He works as a consultant, but the show is so ridiculous that he wishes he was back at the firehouse. The problem is that Gerrard has already taken over and instituted strict rules. Since their house burnt down in the previous season, Athena and Bobby now live in a new place that seems smaller than their former home. The season premiere finds them looking for a new house.
