BREAKING NEWS: 9-1-1 Season 8 Teaser Trailer Reveals ABC Show’s Latest Disaster: Bee-Nado

The first teaser trailer for 9-1-1 season 8 reveals the show’s upcoming disaster. Though its high-profile move from Fox to ABC was disrupted by the writers’ and actors’ strikes of 2023, resulting in fewer episodes, the return of the first-responder drama still managed to include a lot of personal development for the characters. It sets the stage for a very intriguing 9-1-1 season 8, now less than a month away from debuting.

ABC has now shared the first teaser trailer for 9-1-1 season 8, ahead of the show’s return on Thursday, September 26 on ABC at 8 PM EST.

The teaser only shares one unsettling fact about how the average human cannot survive 500 bee stings. It then shows a swarm of bees seemingly descending on Los Angeles, where the show takes place.

Bee-Nado May Be The Least Of The Concerns In 9-1-1 Season 8

The Show’s Characters Have Been Through It RecentlyOliver Stark smiling as Buck in a scene from 9-1-1 season 7

With the return of co-creator Tim Minear as showrunner, following his previous stint on the spinoff 9-1-1: Lone Star, the 118 has been through a lot of changes. Buck (Oliver Stark) comes to his friends and family as bisexual and begins a relationship with the reintroduced Tommy Kinard (Lou Ferrigno Jr.). But as far as Eddie (Ryan Guzman) is concerned, he’s facing life as a bachelor after his son Christopher (Gavin McHugh) decides to live with his grandparents in Texas.

Bobby resigns as the leader of the team after he and Athena (Angela Bassett) deal with a life-threatening situation and their house goes up in flames in the process.

Christopher makes this choice because he is angry with Eddie for lying, and it seems that Eddie is dealing with the change by trying on a new look for 9-1-1 season 8. Elsewhere in the season 7 finale, Bobby (Peter Krause) is replaced as the captain of the 118 by the loathsome Captain Gerrad (Brian Thompson). Bobby resigns as the leader of the team after he and Athena (Angela Bassett) deal with a life-threatening situation and their house goes up in flames in the process.

Hen (Aisha Hinds) and Karen (Tracie Thoms) faced their own setbacks with the adoption process, as Hen drew the ire of a popular politician. The only two characters that seemed to end the season on an uncomplicated note were Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Chimney (Kenneth Choi), who got married at last. But even that milestone takes place after Chimney almost dies. Suffice it to say, there is a lot to deal with when 9-1-1 season 8 debuts beyond the bee crisis.
