Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey reveals whether he will return for season 4
Dear readers, one of the high society’s favourite stars, Jonathan Bailey, has revealed whether he will return for season four.
The actor plays
Anthony Bridgerton in the hit Netflix show and has been a fan favourite since the first season. But he really stole viewers’ hearts in season two, following his dramatic romance with Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).
The pair also appeared in the latest season of the show, which focused on the love story of Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), in which it looked like Anthony and Kate might be leaving the high society behind for a while.
Netflix has now revealed that the fourth series will focus on Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), and Jonathan has confirmed whether we’ll be seeing Anthony.
Speaking in a recent interview on Good Morning America, Bailey revealed he will be returning as the eldest Bridgerton.
“I’m scheduled to come back in a few weeks,” he said. “I’m looking forward to reading the script.”
The actor continued: “The great thing about Bridgerton, which is such a great character, is that there are so many different ways you can fall in love as a human being, and that’s something that this show will explore. Obviously, as the older brother, I’ll be there to support the younger ones as we go forward.”
Speaking more about Benedict, Jonathan described his character as “full of wonder and joy.”
“He’s the heart of the family. Luke Thompson is going to be fantastic,” he added.
This comes after Netflix announced the cast
for Bridgerton season four, which seemingly confirmed Benedict’s love interest.
Australian actress Yerin Ha will play Sophie Beckett, an illegitimate daughter of an earl who captures Benedict’s heart and makes him fall in love.
The trailer released by Netflix reads: “Although both his brother and sister are happily married, Benedict is reluctant to settle down – until he meets a charming Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”
