“Do you picture yourself as Julia Roberts, age 19, in her Golden Globe-winning role as Shelby or maybe more like Truvy, portrayed by Dolly Parton?” a release asked. “How about you on stage playing M’Lyn (Sally Fields), Annelle, Clairee or Ouiser?”

Steel Magnolias is a well-recognized stage play and well-honored movie and will fill the Walker Bay Theater stage with laughs and thought-provoking subject matter, added the release.

Performance dates are set for Aug. 8 through 18, 2024. Rehearsals will be held at Walker Bay Theater, with the schedule for rehearsals established by cast and director.
