Cameron Mathison and Candace Cameron Bure will star in Great American Family’s ‘Home Sweet Christmas.’

It’s the first time two Camerons on Great American Family will meet this holiday season. Cameron Mathison and Candace Cameron Bure are teaming up for their first Christmas movie, Merry Christmas. The show will air in late 2024 as part of the channel’s “Great American Christmas” programming event.

Candace Cameron Bure and Cameron Mathison to Star in ‘Home Sweet Christmas’

Fuller House Bure star and General Hospital Mathison alumni have a number of Christmas romantic comedies to their credit. She starred in 10 Christmas movies for Hallmark before signing an exclusive deal with the Great American Family network in April 2022. Since then, she has starred in several movies for the faith- and family-focused channel, including 2023’s My Christmas Hero.

Mathison is also a Hallmark regular, starring in films such as Christmas Club And A Christmas to remember. In November 2023, he signed an exclusive contract with Great American Family.

Despite working together for years at Hallmark, Mathison and Bure have never appeared on screen together in a holiday movie. Bure is excited to now have the opportunity to work together.

“Sweet Christmas at home will be appearing on the @greatamericanfamily channel this Christmas,” she wrote on Instagram. “We have waited 15 years to make a Christmas movie together and it is finally happening!!! We can’t wait for you to enjoy it with your family.”

What is ‘Home Sweet Christmas’ about?

In Sweet Christmas at homeBure plays Sophie, a successful mergers and acquisitions attorney who returns to her hometown after the death of her uncle Henry.

Henry leaves his niece a 60 percent stake in Marlow Maple Meadows, a large tract of sugar maple land. When Sophie visits the place where she made so many happy memories as a child, she meets Sam (Mathison), her former childhood friend. Henry leaves Sam the remaining 40 percent of the estate. As Sophie and Sam decide what to do with their inheritance, they discover that neither is ready to let go of the past.

Sweet Christmas at home There is no release date yet. But it looks like production is underway. On August 22, Mathison shared a photo of himself standing in a field surrounded by trees with the caption “set life” on Instagram Story.

Bure’s film with Mathison is one of two Christmas movies she will star in this year for Great American Family. The other is A little known Christmas. A previously announced film, Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells, will not go into production until 2024.
