Catch up with Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Matilda on her new cooking show and the family’s biggest misconception
A new cooking show will show a new side of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
— — A new cooking show promises viewers a side of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay they’ve never seen before: The doting dad.
In “Matilda and the Ramsays,” Ramsay’s 13-year-old daughter Matilda (though she prefers to be called Tilly) will cook family recipes on BBC with the entire Ramsay family, including Gordon, mom Tana and siblings Megan, Jack and Holly.
“I’m proud and incredibly excited that Tilly’s natural connection to food is being showcased on screen for the first time,” Ramsay told ABC News.
ABC News caught up with Tilly to find out what viewers can expect from the show, and also got a taste of one of her Whoopie Pie recipes.
When did you start cooking?
“I’ve been helping in the kitchen since I was very young – just joining my mom or dad when they were reading or making dinner. I loved learning that way, and as I got older, I could do the dishes myself, and I really enjoyed doing that. I especially love making desserts and snacks!”
What’s your favorite thing to make?
“I’ve always loved making meringue! But I’ve become much more adventurous now. I love making food from different countries and experimenting with old favorites and putting my own twist on it. As my dad always told me, ‘You don’t have to follow any rules or recipes; you just have to make sure you taste it every time to make sure it’s good!’”
