CBS’ Tracker fans rage as ‘screwed up’ schedule change leaves viewers waiting for new episode and without DVR recordings
CBS’ abrupt schedule change for their action-packed drama Tracker has enraged fans.
On Sunday, the CBS network was initially supposed to air a new episode of Tracker, starring actor Justin Hartley, 47, at its usual time, 9 pm.
The Smallville alum plays the leading role of Colter Shaw, an expert tracker who makes money by finding people and things for rewards.
The sixth installment featured Justin’s wife, Sofia Pernas, 34, in a guest-starring role.
However, the episode became delayed due to the Men’s National Collegiate Athletic Association [NCAA] tournament.
During the basketball game, the Duke Blue Devils took on and defeated the James Madison Dukes.
While the game took longer than expected, viewers waited for the Tracker episode to commence, and the DVR recording captured Dukes’ loss instead.
THE COMMENTS
Upset fans jumped to X, formerly known as Twitter, and slammed the network for supposedly “screwing up” the time slots.
“Um, is Tracker showing up for you all?” one confused fan said.
“Tonight’s schedule is all screwed up. For some reason, when CBS was supposed to air Trackert, the NCAA Tournament delayed everything by 30 minutes,” an angry fan noted.
“Whatever sports game ran late messed with my DVR timer. Are you going to rerun the Tracker episode as new any time? Or should we just stop watching now?” another angry fan ranted.
“CBS. Some people don’t care about sports. Can we just have our new drama #Tracker on?” a fourth person wrote.
“CBS, you need to do a better job of letting people know when shows will be delayed!! Are #TrackerCBS and #CSIVegas on at the normal time? Or different?” a commentator chimed.
‘IN THE RIGHT PLACE’
This is not the only time fans have become upset over an abrupt schedule change.
In mid-February, CBS seemed to air the show’s episodes out of order.
Fans wondered if CBS had messed up its schedule by airing the fourth episode after the pilot.
“Should I watch this episode of #Tracker? Looks like [the network] has aired episode four instead of episode two?” a concerned fan asked.
Executive producer Steve Harper explained the episode switch-up to viewers on social media.
“Seems like the network switched the original order of the episodes,” Steve tweeted.
“CBS switched the order of the episodes. You’re in the right place.”
“Re-order. Courtesy of CBS.” he shared.
Steve claimed the switch-up was intentional, and the decision supposedly came from the higher-ups.
The executive producer also mentioned that all the installments would eventually air.
Based on Jeffery Deaver’s novel, The Never Game, Tracker premiered on CBS after the Super Bowl LVIII.
