Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay becomes a father for the sixth time at age 57
Gordon Ramsay has announced to fans and friends that he has become a father for the sixth time. Gordon and his wife Tana surprised fans by revealing the birth of their newborn. The 57-year-old chef announced the happy news on Instagram on Saturday (November 11, local time).
“What an amazing birthday present, please welcome Jesse James Ramsay, the 7lb 7oz giant,” the popular TV chef said in his announcement.
“More love to the Ramsay army,” Gorden added humorously.
Along with his announcement, the 57-year-old celebrity chef shared three photos on social media. In one, his wife is smiling as she cradles their newborn son in a blanket. In another, Ramsay kisses Jesse on the head while Tana hugs him.
Also in his new post, the Kitchen Nightmares chef hinted that this child would be his last, writing that he was “done” with having three sons and three daughters.
Meanwhile, on her Instagram account, Tana – Gorden Ramsay’s wife and the author of several cookbooks – told her followers that the past nine months had been “stressful” for her.
“It’s been a stressful nine months but we’ve made it through and we’re so blessed to have this little gift. Jesse James Ramsay, we love you so much,” Tana wrote.
“The Ramsay family is definitely complete,” Tana added, agreeing with her husband on the number of children their family has.
After sharing the good news, Ramsay and Tana received well wishes from friends, family and colleagues. Before welcoming their sixth child, Ramsay and Tana already had five children together – Megan, 25, twins Jack and Holly, 23, Matilda, 22, and Oscar, 4. The couple chose to keep news of Tana’s pregnancy under wraps until they announced Jesse’s birth, but Ramsay had hinted at having another child in previous interviews.
Speaking to People in September, the 57-year-old chef said his wife wanted “more kids”. Gorden also expressed his excitement about becoming a father again at 57, even joking that people would mistake him for his children’s “grandfather”.
“I’m going to go to school on sports day with a walker,” Gorden Ramsay said of the future, saying that children would ask his children: “Hey, is that your grandpa?” and his children would say: “Actually, that’s my dad”….
