Does the Bridgerton TV series follow the Bridgerton books?
So far, the show has followed the plot of the Bridgerton books. Like the first book, The Duke and I, the first season of the show featured a fake romance between Daphne and Simon, but then it started to get a little too real. And the second book, The Viscount Who Loved Me, picks up in Season 2 when Anthony’s plans for marriage are disrupted by the difficult sister of the man he’s meant to marry—someone he both fights and falls in love with.
The third book in the series, An Offer from a Gentleman, follows Benedict Bridgerton and his quest for love with… well, we won’t spoil it for you. But we do know that the show will focus on Penelope and Colin, bringing the romance from the fourth book (Romancing Mister Bridgerton) forward in the timeline. Whether the show will return to Benedict’s story in the next season is anyone’s guess!
Who’s in Bridgerton Season 3?
Here’s the question on everyone’s mind: Will Simon be in Season 3? Sorry fans, but Page won’t be back to play the dashing duke in Bridgerton Season 3, just like he wasn’t in Season 2.
But all the other main cast members will be back. And yes, that means we’ll be seeing more of Kate and Anthony. Ashley confirmed that her and Bailey’s characters are “just getting started.”
There’s a slight change to the cast, though: Ruby Stokes, who played Bridgerton’s youngest daughter, Francesca, in the first two seasons, will be replaced by actress Hannah Dodd. Stokes had a scheduling conflict, as she’s starring in another Netflix show, Lockwood & Co.
We’ll also meet three dashing new guys who show up to seduce the girls looking for love, according to Variety. Expect to see the eccentric and wealthy Lord Debling (Sam Phillips), the charismatic Marcus Anderson (Daniel Francis) and the charming (but not too bright) Harry Dankworth (James Phoon).
