Emma Stone and Sally Field Share Spider-Man Reunion at 2024 Oscars: See the Sweet Backstage Moment

Emma Stone and Sally Field are still caught in Spider-Man’s web..At the 2024 Oscars on Sunday, the actresses, who portrayed Gwen Stacy and Aunt May in the Andrew Garfield-led Amazing Spider-Man movies (2012 and 2014), had a reunion, sharing sweet moments on and off the stage.

Alongside Michelle Yeoh, Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lawrence and Jessica Lange, Field, 77, was one of the past Best Actress winners who introduced this year’s nominees in the category.

Field introduced Stone, 35, and lauded her performance as Bella Baxter in Poor Things: “Curious as a puppy and hungry as a bear, Emma Stone’s brilliant Bella is unhinged, uninhibited and completely original.””With the fearlessness of a toddler, she awkwardly steps into the world, awakening into her body and the sensations of being alive without boundaries,” Field continued.

“It is an unforgettable and endearing character created by an actor who is always surprising, who refuses to be categorized and, like Bella, is completely original. Bravo, Emma.”

Stone won the Oscar, and her former Spider-Man costar watched onstage with a huge smile. After an emotional speech, Stone reunited with Field backstage, where the pair shared an emotional moment. In photos, the pair embraces and exchange words as Yeoh and Lawrence watch on, smiling.

Stone interacted with at least one other Spider-Man alum. A video went viral of Stone celebrating her Poor Things collaborators at the ceremony during a moment when she was chatting with Kirsten Dunst.

Dunst, 41, played Mary Jane Watson in the three Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies that predated Stone’s time in the franchise.

“I wish that they did that every year,” she said, adding, “It was so beautiful.”

The Poor Things actress — who also worked with Field on the 2018 series Maniac — reflected on her special connection with the actress.

“I just love her and what she was saying — all of those women I admire so much and look up to so much,” she said, “so it was really [special].”

“And Sally Field I’ve gotten to work with three times,” she told GMA, adding that the stars both share a birthday too: Nov. 6.

And, as of Sunday, the stars have something else in common: two Best Actress wins. Stone previously took home the honor in 2017 for La La Land, while Field won in 1980 for Norma Rae and 1985 for Places in the Heart.
