America’s Got Talent Night 2 Results Show Recap
America’s Got Talent’s live results night kicked off with Terry Crews introducing a recap of Tuesday night’s performance.
Then Terry addressed the elephant in the room: who actually got the Live Golden Buzzer last night. It turns out that Howie Mandel actually hit the Golden Buzzer for Airfootworks before Simon Cowell, and Simon actually apologized for getting excited and trying to steal Howie’s Golden Buzzer.
“It was amazing,” Airfootworks said. “I was surprised to see two judges fighting over us.”Terry then got down to the business of the night, revealing the results of America’s vote. He called up extreme ballet dancer Ashlee Montague and NiNi. The first act that made the Top 5 and was still in the competition was Ashlee Montague.
Next up were singer/songwriter Alex Sampson and variety act Schumacher. America voted Alex Sampson into the Top 5.
They were followed by singer Brooke Bailey and dancer BBoy Samuka. Terry announced that Bboy Samuka was still in the competition.
Singing group Biko’s Manna was called up for their results opposite magician Young-Min. The winner of the pairing was Young-Min.
And the final spot in the Top 5 was a contest between Legíon and Sky Elements. The fifth act still in the competition was announced to be Sky Elements.
“It’s tough, Terry, there are so many good acts,” Simon said. Then he told his Golden Buzzer pick, “However, what you did last night was so unique and so special, you might have given yourself a real chance here.”
Before the results continued, AGT took a trip to Las Vegas for a visit with previous winners Mat Franco and Shin Lim. Then Mat appeared on the AGT stage to perform his special brand of magic.
The tension was palpable as the Top 5 returned to the stage: Alex Sampson, Ashlee Montague, Bboy Samuka, Sky Elements and Young Min.
The first artist to get the good news was Alex Sampson. He is moving on to the semifinals.
The second spot was filled by Young-Min.
That left Ashlee Montague, Bboy Samuka and Sky Elements vying for the final spot, which went to Sky Elements.
“I am so happy and thankful for America for voting for us,” Sky Elements’ chief pilot Preston Ward said. “This has been an amazing experience. We have more stories to tell.”
They will join last week’s Top 3 Ashes & Arrows, Richard Goodall, and Roni Sagi & Rhythm in the semifinals.
America’s Got Talent returns next Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC with 11 more acts hoping to make the semifinals.
