Some of the cast of Fuller House recently reunited, sparking rumors that another season of the Netflix Full House spin-off is in the works.
The cast of Fuller House recently had a reunion, and it has sparked rumors of a revival. Premiering on Netflix in 2016, the Full House spin-off ran for five seasons until it wrapped up in 2020. Now, more than a year since it ended, some of its main actors gathered together to catch up with each other.
Fuller House mirrored its predecessor’s premise. Like Danny (Bob Saget) in Full House, DJ (Candace Cameron-Bure) was suddenly widowed and left to raise three young kids on her own. Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and Kimmy (Andrea Barber) stepped up and moved into the Tanner family home with their respective families to help the eldest Tanner daughter get back on her feet — the same way Jesse (John Stamos) and Joey (Dave Coulier) did in the original show. Through time, they realized that they liked living with each other. So, even if the finale was set to end with Stephanie and Kimmy leaving, they decided to stay under one roof. The older cast members, on the other hand, functioned as recurring guests with Danny, Jesse, and Joey coming in from time to time with their own side stories. While all main characters from Full House reprised their roles in some capacity, Michelle didn’t appear the whole time as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen refused to revisit their acting careers.
Despite Fuller House having a proper send-off, the recent reunion among the cast of the project has sparked rumors that a revival is in the works. Cameron-Bure, who also served as a producer on top of starring in the offshoot, has shared some snaps from their time together. Some of the cast who were present during the get-together include Michael Campion, Elias Harger, Juan Pablo Di Pace, Soni Bringas, and John Brotherton. However, before rumors started flying, it was revealed that the party was for Full House creator’s send-off as he’s moving from New York to Miami.
Interestingly, other Fuller House cast members such as Sweetin and Barber didn’t seem to attend the reunion. Legacy actors such as Saget, Stamos, and Coulier were also not present. Nevertheless, it seemed like a fun shindig. It’s worth noting, however, that Franklin was embroiled in a misconduct scandal towards the end of Fuller House, hence, why he was booted out of his showrunning duties and was replaced by Steve Baldikoski and Bryan Behar in season 4. In any case, it doesn’t seem to affect his relationship with the cast of the show, especially those whom he had worked with since their Full House days.
With the bond still strong among the stars of Fuller House, what are the actual chances that it would be revived? At this point, it’s unlikely. For starters, some of the actors are busy with their other commitments. Although there’s no doubt that they would want to continue with the Full House spin-off, it would be difficult in terms of scheduling. Netflix hasn’t also expressed any intent of ordering another season after it was canceled. That being said, if there are enough calls for the sitcom to return, it’s not totally impossible.
