Miss Benny recalls her time appearing in Fuller House, claiming that a main actor tried to get her removed because she plays a gay character.
Miss Benny claims someone from the Fuller House main cast tried getting her character removed, but Candace Cameron-Bure denies the accusation. Playing performer Casey, Miss Benny’s role was Kimmy’s first high school intern. The character had a lot of potential, but after a couple of Fuller House episodes, Casey was never seen again in the Full House spinoff. In addition, Casey was the first openly-gay player in the Fuller House.
Taking it to her official TikTok, Miss Benny recalls her time in Fuller House and reveals that one of the main cast members tried having her role axed. Despite not dropping names in her video, Cameron-Bure releases a statement to Entertainment Tonight denying the claims.
Was Miss Benny Referring To Candace Cameron-Bure In Her Fuller House Video?
As previously mentioned, Miss Benny doesn’t name-drop anyone in her social media post, but her “One of the Tanner sisters” comment narrows down the pool of possible actors. Since Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen didn’t return as Michelle in the Full House spin-off, she could only be referring to either Jodie Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner, and Cameron-Bure, who portrayed DJ Tanner. Between the pair, the former has been very public about her support towards the LGBTQIA community, leaving the latter as the most probable candidate.
It’s also worth noting that there were previous rumors that Cameron-Bure and Sweetin have conflicted, given their differing views on same-sex marriage. Neither of the parties has commented on the matter, however. While they previously made a public appearance together during the ’90s Con at Hartford, they barely had any one-on-one interaction with each other. Interestingly, they also weren’t asked about it.
With another Fuller House reunion set for later this year, it’s curious if this matter will finally be addressed. Cameron-Bure releasing a statement denying the accusation may not be the end of this controversy. If more people come out about a similar experience, or if Miss Benny makes a follow-up video, then this could continue to haunt not just the DJ actor but the show overall.
