Gordon Ramsay Admits He’s a ‘Better Dad This Time’ to His Little Ones: ‘Now I’m Experienced’

Gordon Ramsay has a big family — but luckily, they can all pitch in.
Speaking to PEOPLE about his partnership with Welch’s Fruit Snacks, the celebrity chef and father of six, 57, opened up about how his little ones learn new things from his older kids. Ramsay and his wife Tana have six children — Megan, 25, twins Jack and Holly, 24, and Matilda “Tilly,” 22, Oscar, 5, and Jesse, 6 months.
“Honestly, I think I’m a better dad this time around,” Ramsay admitted to PEOPLE.
“I know I’m better because I’ve got experience now, and I think we did a good job with the first four kids,” he continued. “And the second part of this family, with the other two kids, I think they’re in a great place because they’ve been educated much earlier than their older siblings, and they’re very passionate about their careers.”
“And Oscar understands what it’s like to be a police officer because his sister is a police officer, and then he still tries to wear Jack’s Green Beret,” the proud dad continued. “He has a Royal Marines commando hoodie that he wants to wear to school, and I try to tell him that’s not part of the school uniform.”
“So at five years old, he understands the importance of work and a career. It’s amazing,” Ramsay added.
In April, Ramsay celebrated his son Oscar’s fifth birthday by posting a photo on Instagram. Carrying Oscar on his shoulders, Ramsay smiled for the camera and held his son’s stuffed animal.
Oscar grinned from ear to ear on his dad’s shoulder, looking very much like the TV personality. “Happy 5th birthday to this little man @oscarjramsay, love you so much OJR Dad ❤️❤️❤️,” Ramsay wrote in his caption.
Back in January, the celebrity chef spoke to PEOPLE and shared whether he was ready to welcome a seventh child into the family.
Telling a funny anecdote about his son Oscar, the father of six revealed, “This morning Oscar said, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if Jesse and I had a little sister?’ And I spit out my Cheerios. Yeah, I had to get up from the table and walk out.”
“I didn’t wait to see Tana’s reaction. I literally coughed my Cheerios all over the table,” he added, before teasing, “Yeah, listen, who knows, right?”
