Gordon Ramsay hints he and wife Tana are expecting their sixth child

Gordon Ramsay has hinted that he and wife Tana Ramsay could soon be expecting their sixth child.

The couple, who recently celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary, are already proud parents to five children – Meghan, 23, twins Jack and Holly, 22, Tilly, 21, and three-year-old Oscar – but could have another.

The Michelin-starred chef, who is originally from Johnstone, joined Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston on Heart Radio to promote his new TV show Next Level Chef.

Gordon, 56, joined chef Paul Ainsworth to tell listeners all about the new ITV cooking show before the conversation quickly turned to the Hell’s Kitchen stars’ family lives. “Last time I watched there were five, there might be another one,” he joked.

“Tanya’s jeans don’t fit her, she wants another child and I was like no, no, no,” he laughed. Presenter Amanda asked: “Is it Christmas or is it having a baby?”

“You know what, I don’t know yet. I’ll check when I get back. I’ll go to Boots on the way back from here and I’ll check,” Gordon replied.

“Tana wants another child and I’m like, ‘no, no, no’, it’s hard enough when I take Oscar to school ‘hey, what’s your granddad’s name?’ or sports day, Jamie when I was standing there with a bat, an egg and a spoon and thinking ‘oh my gosh…’.

Gordon insisted he was in serious trouble with his wife after his slip of the tongue, leaving listeners certain the couple were expecting another child.

It’s not the first time the Kitchen Nightmares star has discussed the idea of expanding their family. “She’s not pregnant, but we’re thinking about it,” he told the Daily Mail in 2021, after joking that Tana, 47, was “four months pregnant”.

“We’ve talked about having another baby. I said that’s a great idea,” Gordon recalled. “She said, ‘Okay, let’s start planning.’ So I thought, ‘Oh my gosh, hold on for two seconds. I’m going to be the oldest dad at school, what’s going to happen on sports day?'”
“But it’s something we’ve still considered, because it’s been fun spending time with Oscar. Just watching his first walks on the beach at Daymer Bay. Watching his first bites. It’s made us more active and better parents.”

Gordon became a dad again in his fifties when he welcomed baby Oscar with Tana. Speaking to the Mirror at the time, he added: “I think I’ll be spending more time with Oscar, I’m happy to be more involved.”

The father-of-five has also reflected on his own childhood and his relationship with his father. “I had a very modest childhood—loved by my mother and I think loved by my father, but I was desperate to get out of the shit hole I was in,” he explains. “I didn’t want to be like my father. I didn’t want to live in a council house and send my kids to school in second-hand clothes. You have to strive to better yourself.”
