Gordon Ramsay opens up about all the family sacrifices he’s made for his career
The father-of-four has been honest about the toll his career has taken on his family.
Gordon Ramsay is arguably one of the most successful chefs in the world. However, that success has come at a high cost.
Appearing on MasterChef, Gordon tried to console a contestant who broke down on the show after she missed her son’s first day of school.
Speaking candidly about his own experiences, the father-of-four has revealed what he’s had to sacrifice for his work.
“Chloe, everyone has to make sacrifices to get to the top,” the father-of-four told the hopeful contestant.
“This competition is incredible. The rewards of reaching the top are huge.
“I could give you 25 examples of things I’ve missed out on with my four kids over the last 10 years. And it breaks my heart.”
However, the 51-year-old says he now knows it was a sacrifice he had to make.
“But you get to a certain level of success in life, and you pay a price for that.
“So you put it aside and you keep going.”
Gordon and his wife Tana are parents to Megan, 20, twins Jack and Holly, 18, and Matilda, 16.
