Like many parents up and down the country, Gordon Ramsay supported his children as they got their A-Level results today.
The famous chef was thrilled to learn that his 18-year-old twins, Jack and Holly, had passed their exams and will be heading off to university. In celebration of their achievements, Gordon, 51, revealed that he’ll be treating them to a special present… a swanky meal paid for – or made by – yours truly.
Would they expect anything less?
In a sweet tribute to the twins, Gordon posted on Instagram: ‘Well done Jack & Holly! 2 more Ramsay’s off to University #Exeter#ravensbourne I’m so proud, amazing results ABB ABC @_jackrams3y_@hollyramsayy also well done to all the other students on a very tough year ! Dinner’s on me!’
It’s believed that Jack will be heading to Exeter University while Holly will continue her education at Ravensbourne.
Clearly nervous ahead of her big day, Holly had written on Instagram the previous day: ‘Smiling through the realisation that we’re getting our A level results tomorrow.. good luck,’ alongside a photo with her twin brother.
If they need advice on the daunting prospect of starting uni, Holly and Jack can simply call on their older sibling, Megan, 19, who is currently studying Philosophy at Oxford Brookes University.
Although three of their children will be out of the nest, Gordon and his wife Tana Ramsay will still have the company of their daughter Tilly. The 16-year-old also has a big day coming up as she will get her GCSE results on 23rd August. Congratulating Tilly on the completion of her exams in June, Holly wrote on Instagram: ‘So, so proud of you princess! Congratulations on finishing your GCSEs.’
It’s no surprise that the Ramsay children are buckling down with their work as the celebrity chef has previously spoken of his strict parenting.
Gordon told The Telegraph in 2017: ‘They don’t sit with us in first class. They haven’t worked anywhere near hard enough to afford that. At that age, at that size, you’re telling me they need to sit in first class? No, they do not. We’re really strict on that.
‘I turn left with Tana and they turn right and I say to the chief stewardess, “Make sure those little fuckers don’t come anywhere near us, I want to sleep on this plane”. I worked my fucking arse off to sit that close to the pilot and you appreciate it more when you’ve grafted for it.’
In the same interview, Gordon famously revealed that he won’t be giving his children any money in his will so as not to ‘spoil them’.
