Gordon Ramsay shares one thing he’d never order from a restaurant menu

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has revealed the one menu item he would always avoid while out for a meal, as well as certain ‘red flags’ to look out for in restaurants
Legendary chef Gordon Ramsay has lifted the lid on items he would never order when out for dinner.

When going out for a meal, you can sometimes feel spoiled for choice at a restaurant- but have you ever wondered what the real professionals will always steer clear from? You’d like to think famous chefs such as Gordon Ramsay know what they’re talking about when it comes to food so what does he avoid?
Speaking to Town and Country, the well-known celebrity chef has one particular dish he would avoid if he wants to make sure the food he eats is fresh.
He expressed that he would never order a restaurant’s soup of the day, as it will most likely be food the restaurant is trying to get rid of or something that was on the previous day’s “specials” menu. He said: “Ask what yesterday’s soup du jour was before today’s special. It may be the case that it’s the soup du month,” as noted by The Express.

He also suggested that one of the best ways to find out what’s good when visiting a new restaurant is to simply ask the server. “It depends on the restaurant, but servers tend to taste most of the dishes on the menu and can give you insight into what the chef has added and what the locals have,” he explained, as he claimed he’s been given a lot of “great recommendations” from servers.
Not only did he share the dish he tends to avoid while out for a meal, he also gave insight into what “red flags” to look out for in a restaurant. He revealed the suspicious things restaurants can do and said that places that “boast” about their food are somewhere you should be wary of, with phrases such as “world’s best,” “famous,” or even “best in the country.”

Another red flag at restaurants is when there is a long list of specials on the menu and the chef advised not to be tempted by them. Gordon said: “Specials are there to disappear throughout the evening. When they list 10 specials, that’s not special,” he noted in a chat with The Mail, according to The Express.
