When going out for a meal, you can sometimes feel spoiled for choice at a restaurant- but have you ever wondered what the real professionals will always steer clear from? You’d like to think famous chefs such as Gordon Ramsay know what they’re talking about when it comes to food so what does he avoid?Speaking to Town and Country, the well-known celebrity chef has one particular dish he would avoid if he wants to make sure the food he eats is fresh.

He expressed that he would never order a restaurant’s soup of the day, as it will most likely be food the restaurant is trying to get rid of or something that was on the previous day’s “specials” menu. He said: “Ask what yesterday’s soup du jour was before today’s special. It may be the case that it’s the soup du month,” as noted by The Express.
He also suggested that one of the best ways to find out what’s good when visiting a new restaurant is to simply ask the server. “It depends on the restaurant, but servers tend to taste most of the dishes on the menu and can give you insight into what the chef has added and what the locals have,” he explained, as he claimed he’s been given a lot of “great recommendations” from servers.
