Gordon Ramsay’s 1 Tip for Making Great Air Fryer Steak (Yes, Really)
You know what they say, if you don’t have an annoying air fryer friend, you are an annoying air fryer friend.
I can honestly say that I know I am that friend. Whether I use it to whip up a quick dinner, reheat leftovers, or even as part of my Sunday roast, my air fryer and I are BFFS.
However, these handy little kitchen gadgets do have their detractors. Take James Martin, for example, who says he actually thinks they should be banned. That’s a bit of a stretch.
But that’s okay, because you know who else is an air fryer fan? None other than Gordon Ramsay.
Gordon Ramsay’s Air Fry Steak Recipe
In a video for Phillips, Gordon shared his recipe for a coffee and chilli marinated ribeye steak, which is cooked entirely in an air fryer. In the clip, he says the air fryer helps to “lock in” the flavour and keep the juices inside the ribeye.
Mixing freshly ground coffee with Aleppo pepper, the chef says: “the longer you marinate, the more flavour you get inside the steak”.
He recommends marinating the dish with this potent mixture first, so you can “wipe off” all the seasoning and make sure you’ve covered all sides. He adds that if you do this and then leave it for 20 minutes before cooking, the difference is “completely different”.
Then cook it in the air fryer at around 200°C for around 8-10 minutes.
What Air Fryer Beef Tastes Like
Gordon says the beef has the perfect flavor and temperature — similar to grilling. He adds that it shouldn’t be sliced too thin and should be served with potatoes and veggies.
Finally, he says, “air is the new oil!”
What a great guy.
