Gordon Ramsay’s wife Tana says their four grown-up children have moved back into the house after the renovation: ‘Everyone has a bedroom’
“They’ve left the house and they’re all back,” said Tana, who has six children with Gordon Ramsay
The Ramsays have a full house!
Tana and Gordon Ramsay share children Megan, 26, twins Jack and Holly, 24, Matilda “Tilly”, 22, Oscar, five, and Jesse, eight months. And it’s not just the little ones who live with them in London, Tana, 49, revealed on the Postcards from Midlife podcast with Lorraine Candy and Trish Halpin.
“They’ve left the house and they’re all back,” the cookbook author said of her four children, who are in their twenties. “They moved out of our house three years ago to renovate.”
At the time of the family home renovation, Megan and Holly were living with friends and Jack was “out west”. Tilly was the only one at home with Oscar and Jesse, Tana shared.
“When we finished the project and moved in three weeks ago, everyone had bedrooms again,” she told Postcards from Midlife. “They’d all moved back home. Holly lives in Nottingham, but she’s always coming back to London and obviously wanted to have a bedroom with her boyfriend [swimmer Adam Peaty].”
Even in a house full of young people, Tana says her youngest son Jesse still manages to sleep well. Having spent the night in her bedroom, he’s good at “sleeping through the noise.”
“Luckily, when someone comes in at three in the morning [and] the dog barks like crazy and the door slams, he’s still asleep.” “They just have to move around him.”
The kitchen is one of the busiest places in their home. And surprisingly, it’s not Gordon who cooks — Tana says she’s “always” the one who rules the kitchen. “Gordon eats anything. He’s very easy to cook with. He wants to make the simplest food at home,” she says.
Her adult children, on the other hand, are a different story. “They’re all very picky eaters. Holly doesn’t eat dairy now. Tilly eats fish, but she doesn’t eat meat,” she says. “They never were, so the kids are the easiest.”
“All the kids are pretty picky, but I love that,” she adds.
In May, Gordon told PEOPLE that he tries his best to make sure his kids eat a well-rounded diet.
“With kids, it’s really important that they’re not fussy. And so in the early days, we would disguise spinach, mix it into soup,” he said. “And then if I showed them a bowl of spinach, they’d make a face and not like it. And so we were really smart about making a lot of vegetable soups early on in that journey.”
He also shared his favorite dish Tana makes: “I would say it’s her lasagna bolognese, where she makes this amazing bolognese sauce.”
Tana’s cooking, especially this dish, gives him a run for his money. “It goes in the oven for about four and a half hours,” he told PEOPLE. “It’s really delicious, pretty unique.”
